On Monday, May 29, 2017, Cherokee Memorial Park & Funeral Home again honored the more than 7,000 veterans interred at the park along with those currently serving our country in the military.


Maj. General Eldon ReguaThis free event marked the 60th year of our spectacular "Avenue of Flags," featuring more than 1,000 American flags on display throughout the park. The ceremony included an honor guard, presentation of wreaths and patriotic musical performances.


This year's guest speaker was retired U.S. Army Major General Eldon P. Regua. A native of northern California, Maj. Gen. Regua's decorations include the Army Distinguished Service Medal with bronze oak leaf cluster, Legion of Merit with bronze oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with a silver oak leaf cluster and Parachutist Badge.  Maj. Gen. Regua currently serves on the State of California Governor's Military Council and is an active member of Calvary Community Church in Manteca.
