Ann Byus

Ann Colleen Byus, 80, of Lodi, unexpectedly went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, the 14th of September, 2017. She was born in Elsinore, California, on June 1st, 1937. She was the youngest of three children born to Orval and Alene Taylor. On May 24th, 1954, she married her one and only love, Robert Forrester Byus. Together they raised 4 daughters. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, brother and daughter Roberta Preston of Oklahoma. She is survived by her daughters, Georgia Littlejohn of Tennessee, Cathleen Butterfield of Lodi, California and Judy Michel of Acampo, CA. She was grandmother to eight grandchildren and great grandmother to eleven great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10:00 am in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi,  CA.

Jeremiah Mobley

October 4, 1977 - September 10, 2017

Jeremiah Martin Mobley - father, grandfather, son, grandson, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend - died on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at home in Lodi, CA. Born October 4, 1977 in Sacramento, CA, "Miah" was 39 years old.

Jeremiah was intelligent, witty, artistic, hard-working, and a life-long Philadelphia Eagles fan. He enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, and time with his children, family and friends.

Jeremiah is survived by his children Joseph and Broden Mobley, grandson, Oenomaus Mobley; parents and step-parents, Terri Spencer, Jim and Beth Mobley, Scott Spencer, and Kathy Kitchens; his siblings, Wesley Spencer, Jack Spencer, Annie Spencer, Jasmine Jackson, Bessie Jackson, Sarah Tate, Kim Erickson, Cad Castleberry, and Lacey Castleberry; his grandparents, Jim Mobley, Sr. and Roy and Joan Hall; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jeremiah was especially close to his Aunt Laurie Williams and Uncle Adam Mobley.  He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother, Lynn Mobley.

SERVICES

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 22nd at 1:00 pm at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckham Rd. Lodi, CA.

There will be a Celebration of Life to follow for family and close friends at the home of Jeremiah's mother, Terri Spencer, at 7 South School Street in Lodi.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jeremiah's memory to the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention, http://www.afsp.org

Elias Carranco

May 10, 1938 - September 10, 2017 Elias passed peacefully on Sunday September 10th in Gilroy, California at the age of 79. Elias is survived by his sisters Mary Helen Carranco, Elizabeth Carranco, Esther Boland, and Elenore Fields. He is also survived by his children Sylivia Turner, Chris Carranco, Ysidra Wishaw Robinson, and Andrea Vindiola.  Also 6 grandchildren as well as 5 great- grandchildren.

Elias served his country at the age of 17 in the US Air Force, being stationed in Germany. Later in life he served in the Army National Guard out of Sacramento when his unit was activated to serve in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He felt it was an honor to serve his country. After returning from active duty, he began working the for City of Stockton where many friends knew him as a parking lot attendant. He was very active at his church and always kept busy. He always loved to reflect on his time in the service as well as talk about his family.

Viewing will be Sunday, September 17th from 9am-8pm in the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi CA.

SERVICES

Funeral services will be on Monday, September 18th at 1pm in the  Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi CA.

Reception will follow at Bethany Christian Center at 798 W. 3rd Street, Stockton.

Kotomi Satake

Kotomi Satake  

July 17, 1920 – September 6, 2017

 

Kotomi Satake passed away in Modesto on September 6, 2017 at the age of 97. Born in Martinez, CA she has lived the past 75 years in Stockton. She loved to sing and truly cherished time spent with her beloved family. Kotomi was a longtime member of Stockton Buddhist Church and Tomono Kai Linden District.

She was preceded in death by her husband Minoru “Roy” Satake, and son Kenny Satake.

She is survived by her children: Alvin Satake (Maxine) of Orinda, Joyce Hall (Howard) of Gilroy, George Satake (Edna) of Stockton; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

 

A viewing will take place from 4-8 PM on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA.

A Memorial service to Celebrate Kotomi’s life will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday September 30, 2017 at Stockton Buddhist Church – 2820 Shimizu Drive in Stockton.

Jamie Younger

Jamie Younger passed away unexpectedly in Livermore, Ca on Saturday, September 2, 2017. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Joyce and Levell Younger on January 16, 1961. He moved to Oakland, Ca in 1962 with his parents and attended Brookfield Elementary School and graduated from Grambling High in Louisiana in 1978. Jamie accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and united with Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Louisiana. He was an avid Bible reader and spent hours studying the Bible. Jamie was a kind-hearted man who loved helping others so much that while employed with the Grambling Housing Authority in Louisiana, he started a Bike Repair Program where he repaired over 24 bicycles for the children of GHA. He also he loved old movies and taking long walks. He was a hard worker and worked for Orora North America for the pass 6 years until his passing.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory – parents Joyce Younger, Level Younger, step-mother Pearl Younger, two sisters – his twin Janice Hodges, Pamela Ferreira, two brothers Gregory Younger, LaShun Younger, sister-in-law Michelle Younger, two brother-in-laws John L. Hodges, Sr., David Ferreira, nephews – John L. Hodges, Jr., Jordan Hodges, Nicholas Ferreira, Colin Younger, nieces - Shane’ Ferreira, Jennifer Hodges, Nicole Ferreira, great-niece Laniya Hodges, Shamar Hunt, John L. Hodges, III, Aaliyah Hodges, Jayla Hodges and newborn Kaela Williams, and a host of family and friends.
