Arden Hunt

December 12, 1931 - April 17, 2018 Cherokee Memorial is honored to serve the Hunt family.

Arden Ardell Hunt passed away on April 17, 2018.  Arden was born on a farm near Smith Center, Kansas.  He moved to California in the 30s. He graduated from Oakdale High and attended Delta College.  He was in the US Navy for 4 years.  He retired as a fire captain from Stockton Fire Department.  He played trumpet in high school, and also enjoyed many hobbies, including bowling, playing golf, and monthly family dinners.  He is survived by his lovely wife of 68 years, Lila; daughter Karen Emerson; brothers Veryle Hunt and Kenny Hunt; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by the late Eddie and Marsha Hunt.

George Nehas

July 8, 1935 - April 16, 2018 Cherokee Memorial is honored to serve the Nehas family.

George Michael Nahas died at his home on April 17, 2018 in Lodi, CA at the age of 82. George is survived by his wife Mary, his sons Caesar (Barbara) and Fred. He is preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Fuad and his older sister Lydia. George was born on July 7, 1935 in Lebanon to Michael and Asine Nahas. He graduated from Cal Poly with a degree in engineering. He married Mary in 1967 and moved to Lodi in 1972 where George has been a part of the business community in Lodi for over 40 years.

Service

Wednesday April 25, 2018 at 10:00am located in the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park located at 14165 N. Beckman Rd in Lodi, CA 95240.  A reception to follow at the Nahas home.  In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Helen Katherine Hamilton

August 21, 1930 to April 11, 2018

Cherokee Memorial is honored to serve the Hamilton family.  Helen K. Hamilton, age 87, of Stockton went to Our Lord on April 11, 2018.  Helen was born August 21, 1930 in Richmond, Indiana.  Helen met her second husband, James Earl “Lucky” Hamilton of Bakersfield in 1982.  They met at First Baptist Church of Stockton. They were married for 26 years.  Helen was an active member of First Baptist Church of Stockton for 69 years.  Helen enjoyed going to church, reading, watching and listening to religious speakers on T.V., sewing, and cooking.

Helen will be greatly missed by her son Doug and wife Kathryn, daughter-in- law Linda Lee Harrell Bartlett, grandson Peter Bartlett, granddaughter Samantha Bartlett, granddaughter Melissa Bartlett of Pennsylvania, great grandson Giovanni Bartlett, stepchildren Jimmy, Mark, Bonny, and Isaac Hamilton, and longtime friends at church and Brookdale Senior Living.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband James Hamilton, son Dennis Bartlett, daughter Doreen Bartlett Fugate and son-in- law Phillip Fugate.

Visitation will be held 12pm to 1:30pm on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel at 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, California 95240.

Dorothy Savage

June 6, 1929 - April 9, 2018 Dorothy S. Savage 88 of Stockton died April 9, 2018 in Manteca, California. Dorothy was born June 6, 1929 in Como, Texas. She moved to Stockton in her early twenties to pursue a business career. Dorothy was hired by Wells Fargo in Stockton and enjoyed a long and successful career with them retiring after 30 years of service.

In 1961 she met the love of her life Charles Savage. They were happily married for 53 years. Together they were big fans of UOP Girls Volleyball and held season tickets for many years. They loved bowling and competed in various leagues in Stockton wining many championships. Dorothy and Charles were longtime members of the Nord Lodge in Stockton and regularly attended events and celebrations of the lodge. Dorothy was a member of Dine Out where she met many friends that she has cherished a lifetime.

Dorothy is survived by three nephews and a niece, John Allred, Mike and Donna Hollander, and Erik Allred. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Cherokee Memorial, Lodi, California.

INTERMENT

Interment will take place at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, California.

Nelda "Jane" Moralli

September 28, 1940 - April 4, 2018 Cherokee Memorial is honored to serve the Moralli family.

Lovingly encircled by family, Jane (Cobble) Morelli, 77, was called Home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Born September 28, 1940 in Yale, Oklahoma, she enjoyed a wonderful childhood on the family farm. Graduated from Yale High School in 1958 and Oklahoma State University in 1963 with a double major in Family Relations and Child Development/Education. Started her teaching career in Denver, Colorado where she met and married her husband.  There they raised a daughter and son. During those years, she worked at the Colorado Baptist General Convention.

She was a, devoted Southern Baptist, happily serving, teaching, cooking and singing with her beautiful alto voice She loved to travel abroad, for ministry or pleasure.  The family moved to Stockton, California in 1988.  In the years that followed, she worked as a bank teller and then returned to teaching until her retirement in 1998 due to health issues.  She will forever be remembered for her inviting personality, graceful generosity, southern hospitality, and love of butterflies!

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Guy Morelli; her daughter, Michelle Morelli-Taylor, (Gene), and her son, Tony Morelli, all of Stockton, California; by her brother, Bill Cobble (MaryBeth) of Lexington, Virginia; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and countless precious friends that endearingly called her Mom or Nana.

Services

Services will be held on Saturday April 21, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Vineyard Chapel, located at the Cherokee Memorial Cemetery: 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi.

Reception to follow at Michigan Heights Baptist Church, 3156 Michigan Avenue, Stockton.
