April 20, 1932 – October 26, 2015 Oliver Noel Hunt passed away on October 26 with family by his side at the age of 83. Oliver was the third child born to Laura and Noel Hunt in Reamsville, Kansas on April 20, 1932. The family relocated to Stockton in 1938 where he attended Stockton High and Stockton College. Oliver proudly served his country as a US Army Paratrooper from 1957-1959. After returning to Stockton, he worked as a self employed Electrical Contractor and enjoyed spending time with his large family and many friends. He loved to go on RV road trips and attend weekly Tuesday morning breakfast with his siblings and their families. The annual Hunt Picnic was a highlight each year, where Oliver was known as the keeper of the family tree. He and Rosie have been active members of the East Main Street Church of Christ for 48 years. Oliver is survived by Rosie Hunt, his loving wife of 48 years and their children, David Hunt Sr., Debbie Bachle, Kathi Pettit and Liz Rios. He will be missed by his grandchildren David Jr., Paul, Jason, Sarah, Melissa, Mandi, Brandi, Brian and Michael and 12 great grandchildren. Brother Marshall Hunt, sisters Esther Caldwell and Norma Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews. Oliver was preceded in death by his parents, sister Val Jean Clark and son Randy Cobb.
VISITATION
Visitation for Oliver will be held at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 E. Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240 on Saturday, October 31 from 11am – 3 pm.
SERVICES
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Chapel of Flowers, Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi,CA 95240 . In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the Manuelito Navajo Children’s Home, 12 Theta Street, Gallup, NM 87301, or a charity of your choice.
