Michael Lynn Jones

Michael Lynn Jones, 57, passed away November 7, 2015 at home in Stockton, CA. Mike (M.L.) was a lifelong resident of Stockton. He had many accomplishments he was very proud of, including a 26 year career with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department where he retired in December 2014 as a Lieutenant. His stint with the Sheriff’s Office covered patrol of his home county, serving the county in Superior Court, and several years as a detective, where he was selected as Officer of the Year in February 2004 while investigating child abuse crimes. Mike was truly proud of his work with the Sheriff’s Department and his family and coworkers would describe him as a mentor within the law enforcementJones, Michael L community.M.L. had a saucy sense of humor and could make people laugh in an instant. Mike also found happiness in weekend naps, fishing, spending time with his wife Stacey, and enjoying his daughters and spoiling his first grandchild. He was an avid fan of anything sports related, and was especially devoted to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Mike is survived by his wife, Stacey Jones, daughters Jocelyn Andersen (Scott) of Tualatin, OR, Mallory Jones, stepsons Reagan and Logan Wuelfing, his granddaughter, Avery Andersen, and his brother Dennis Jones.  He is also is survived by nephew Bobby A. Jones and family, and nieces Kelene Robinson and Jessica Jones their families. M.L. had many brothers and sisters in law and was an uncle to their wonderful children. Mike was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert Jones and Jewell Stringer, his stepfather, Billy Stringer, his brother Bobby E. Jones, and his sister Donna Jones.

SERVICES

An open house celebration of his life will be held on November 20, 2015 from 11:00 – 2:00 at the Robert Cabral Agricultural Center, 2101 East Earhart Ave. Stockton, CA 95206. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Giovanni’s Heart Fund (c/o Twanna Frattaroli): Valley First Credit Union 1611 W. March Lane Stockton, CA 95207. Mike would have wanted donations provided to his little buddy, Gino Frattaroli Hebert. Gino is a 13 year old warrior who has been fighting a heart condition call Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome since birth.
