Refugio “Joe” Aguilar went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2015 in Stockton, CA at the age of 75.Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Lorraine “Aggie Aguilar, two children, Joe Aguilar, Kellie Piombo, son-in-law Joe Piombo; three grandchildren Joey Piombo & wife Katie Piombo, Corena Aguilar, John Piombo; two great-grandchildren Kaleah Piombo and Joey Piombo Jr.; Sisters Consuelo Aguilar Leyva, Sarah Aguilar Sarcos, Cecelia Aguilar, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Joe was born on September 18, 1939 in Sacramento, CA to Parents Refugio Recobo Aguilar of Mexico and Rebecca Romero of Colorado. He graduated from Edison High School in 1958. Served in the US Army Reserves until 1964. Retired from Stockton Chrome Plating retired with over 30 years of service. Staying retired was not in Joe’s nature in 2002 he joined the Chase Chevrolet team whom he cherished deeply. Joe leaves a legacy of service to his community and a long list of involvement, through his love of baseball as a player and coach. Played for Edison High School, Stockton College Colts and the Connie Mack League. Twenty five years involvement in the Cal-Mex League as player, coach and served as president of the Board of Directors and in 1984 became Commission of the League. In 1970 with the help of others started the Cal-Mex Softball Tournament and coached women’s softball for 17 years, The Pi-nays. Joe was instrumental in the start of the Stockton Pop Warner Youth Tackle Football and coached South Stockton Vikings and the North Stockton Bengal. He also made an impact in Little League when he coached in the Canal Babe Ruth League in 1974 and took his team to play in Hawaii. For his love and service to building a better tomorrow for our youth through sports, Joe was honored by the African–American Athletes Hall of Fame in 2009 with the Coach Washington’s Service to Community Award, and in 2006 was inducted into the Stockton Mexican Sports Hall of Fame. His greatest Legacy he leaves is his faith in God and love for family. Joe will be missed by his beloved family and friends.

SERVICES
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Quail Lakes Baptist Church, 1904 Quail Lakes Dr., Stockton, CA 95207. Friends and Family are also invited to attend the reception following the service, also at the Church.
INTERMENT
Final Committal will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi, CA 95240
