Patricia F. (Huddleston) young passed away on May 17, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 79.
Patricia was born on March 24, 1936 in Butler, Oklahoma. As an infant, she moved to California with her parents Seldon and Dorothy Huddleston. She was one of four siblings and attended schools in Westwood and Paradise, CA. She graduated from Chico High School in 1954 and later became a licensed cosmetologist for over forty years. After studying with Vidal Sassoon in London in 1965, she owned and operated several full service salons in Tuolumne County and Stockton.
Patricia had many interests including gardening, genealogy and traveling, but her greatest passion was for her family. She was a caregiver and always a champion for those in need. She was an advocate for children and adults with special needs for over 47 years. Patricia belonged to the first parent support group at Walton Development Center and served on the board of directors at ARC and The Hanot Foundation. She also volunteered for many years as a counselor for Saint Andrew's Good Shepherd Summer Retreats in Lake Tahoe and Special Olympics. Her fund raising efforts for The Hanot Foundation of Lockeford California are countless.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Wesley Young, her daughter Julia Armstrong Eck (Carl), her son Jarrod Young and her son Jon Young. Her grandson Jordan Eck (Karli), her granddaughter Holland Weaver (Drew), her granddaughter Mariah Armstrong, her grandson Joseph Young and her granddaughter Isabela Young. She is survived by three great-grandchildren Madison Eck, Averie Eck and Max Weaver. She was a beloved aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
Patricia is predeceased by her father Seldon Huddleston, her mother Dorothy (Raimer) Huddleston, her sister Julia (Huddleston) Hill, her brothers Gary and Wayne Huddleston and her son Edward Jordan Armstrong.
