Loving Father, Grandpa and Papa, Otto Nietschke was called home by the Lord on March 31, 2016 at the age of 84. He will be missed by family and dear friends. Born September 21, 1931 in Norris, South Dakota, Otto married Shirley Sifferman on September 12, 1954. They made Lodi their home. He enjoyed raising and caring for animals, including cattle and many types of birds. He loved life on the farm and work was his play.

Otto boxed in high school and earned the name “Nails” and was undefeated. He entered into the Army in 1953 and served as a Sergeant till 1960.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and held many offices on the council over the years. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Nietschke, son Michael Nietschke; grandson Eric Nietschke, brother Paul Nietschke, and sister Dena Mettler.

He is survived by his son David (Maridee) Nietschke, son Steven (Satoko) Nietschke, daughter in law Donna Nietschke, and his grandchildren Tammy (Tom) Drescher, Matthew Nietschke, Ashli Nietschke, Sean Nietschke, and Sena Nietschke. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren Troy Drescher and Tambria Drescher and sisters, Erna Quashnick, Martha Baker and Elma Storm, and long time companion Joyce Griffen.

VISITATION

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 1-6pm at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240.

SERVICES

Funeral services will be held at 4pm on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 N. Elderberry Ct, Lodi, Ca 95242.
