Nancy Ann Mann passed away at a local hospital on June 28, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born November 8, 1924 in Modesto to Edward and Katherine Mitchell. She attended local schools and served in the Navy during World War II, being honorably discharged on May 17, 1946, after which she met and married Walter Jerome “Jerry” Mann on March 30, 1947. Together they had three sons. The family moved to Lodi in 1959, where she and Jerry owned Mann’s Pharmacy in downtown Lodi. She sold the pharmacy following her husband’s death in 1970, later working for several years at Woolworth’s department store and Wilson’s Pharmacy. Nancy was an avid tennis player, maintaining memberships in the Modesto Racquet Club and Sun West (Twin Arbors) Athletic Club. She continued her athletic activities into her late eighties, going to the gym three times a week. She had many friends, all of whom could attest to her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry; parents Edward and Katherine Mitchell; and brother Edward “Jack” Mitchell. She is survived by her three sons, Michael (Sherry) Mann of Nevada, Steve (Jill) Mann of Lodi; and Mark Mann of Lodi.
