Marion Cox, loving wife, mother,
grandmother and great grand- mother passed away in Stockton on January 1 at the age of 86. She was born to Otto and Elizabeth Pigorsch in Hope, Kansas, and moved to California as a child. She married Richard Frush and raised her family in Stockton, and later doted on her grandchildren. Marion worked at St. Joseph's Hospital serving nutritious food to patients for 17 years. She was a dedicated member of Zion Lutheran Church, an incredible cook, and a stylish dresser. In 1988, Marion (previously
widowed) married Lawrence "Larry" Cox. Larry called her "Little One" and treated her like a princess throughout almost 30 years of marriage. They traveled the world, volunteered with the Red Cross after natural disasters, camped across the US, cheered at their grandchildren's sporting events, took up golf, volunteered locally with San Joaquin County S.T.A.R.S. and with Friends of the Public Library, and hosted delicious parties. Marion lived a full and joyous life. Marion is preceded in death by her first husband Richard Frush and her sons Steven Frush and Tim Cox. She is survived by her beloved husband Larry Cox, her dog Brandy, son Gary Frush (Wendy) of Stockton, daughter Cathy Bates (Robert) of Orland, son Matt Cox (Nancy) of Markleeville, sons Mark Cox and Paul Cox of Brookings, Oregon; her grandchildren Ashley Kenny (Dave) of Seattle, Ben Frush (Laura) of Manteca, Jason Bates of Greenville, Nathan Bates of Chico, Marcus Cox and Jeffrey Cox of Sacramento, Justin Cox of Denver, Jennifer Cox of Germany, Jessica Cox of Phoenix, AZ; and her great-grandchildren Jace Cox of Sacramento, Felicity Cox and Calvin Wachowiak of Phoenix, AZ, and Megan and Peter Kenny of Seattle.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 21 at 1:30 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, located at 808 Porter Ave in Stockton. In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America)
