Margie Medina passed away on July 28, 2017 at her home in Stockton at the age of 59. She was born in Fresno, California to Genevieve and Jess Medina on May 19, 1958. Her family moved to Stockton and she attended South Stockton schools and graduated from Tokay High School in 1976. Margie loved music and cooking for her family. She was an avid Beatles fan and had a deep affection for Paul McCartney, attending many concerts over the years. Margie worked as a cook at St. Joseph’s and San Joaquin General Hospitals. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Genevieve Medina. She is survived by her sisters Genevieve “Susie” Aires and Diane Vigil, her brother Jesse Medina, and numerous nieces and nephews. Margie was especially close to her nephew Ryan Tomkins, Jeremy Reyner, and Paul Halbert.
Margie also enjoyed spending time with her 90 pound tortoise Trixster and her beloved dog Angel.
Margie had a way with words (was the life of the party). If you’ve spent time with her, you were sure to be present for one of her frequent “zingers.” She called things the way she saw them which often involved colorful and unfiltered language. But, you always knew that Margie’s words came from a place of deep love and support. Margie had a comforting way about her that put people at ease. Even through her most challenging times, Margie looked for ways to lift up others and bring a smile or laugh to all around her.
Those who knew Margie understood that she was Daddy’s girl. Margie is now back in the comforting arms of her father.
