August 7, 1958 - Feb. 26, 2018 Bruce Owen Yates, 59, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on February 26, 2018 at his home in Acampo, CA.
Bruce was born to Barbara and Eldon Yates in Stockton, CA, older brother to Eileen Yates. He graduated from Linden High School and attended Delta College and UOP. Bruce founded Yates Electric at the age of 24 and operated the business for 36 years. He married Carol shortly after and was a dedicated husband throughout their 34 years of marriage. Bruce and Carol were the loving parents of two children, as well as raising two sons from Carol's previous marriage.
Bruce is preceded in death by his beloved mother Barbara Yates, grandfather Mike Nessler, aunt Janet Bryan, uncle Michael Nessler and grandson David Williams. He is survived by his wife Carol Yates, father Eldon Yates, great-grandmother Viola Nessler, sister Eileen Yates, son Kenneth Yates, daughter Jessica Yates and her fiancé Oliver Tapalla, stepson Aaron Williams, his wife Regina Williams, stepson Richard Williams, granddaughter Lucy Escalante, grandson Waylon Escalante, grandson Eric Williams, nephew Justin Dillard, and numerous other beloved family members.
Bruce enjoyed the admiration of those close to him for his tireless work ethic, peerless sense of humor, and eagerness to help friends and family. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and working with his hands. In his later years, Bruce embraced his role as a grandfather and spent as much time as possible with his grandchildren Lucy, Waylon and Ryan as well as his niece Blakelee Dillard, and taking trips to his homes in Twin Falls, Idaho and Wilseyville, CA with his family. Bruce cherished the hope of welcoming his grandson Lorenzo Owen Yates Tapalla into the world later this year. Bruce was an active and beloved member of Lodi Bowmen and the Lodi Moose Lodge throughout his life.
VISITATION
Visitation will be Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 1-6 PM at Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA.
SERVICES
Funeral service will follow at the same address at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 5, 2018.
