October 16, 1932 - September 15, 2020
Hope Newton of Lodi, California, 87, went home to meet Jesus, her Lord and Savior, the morning of Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Hope was born to Antonio and Refugio Daniel in Holtville, California, October 16, 1932. She worked for Safeway 36 years, retired in 1988. It was at Safeway, that she met the love of her life, Roland Newton. On their first date, Hope and Roland had their first kiss; with a “clink” of their glasses a match was made in heaven. They were married three weeks later for over 55 years.
Hope was a dedicated and passionate member of St Anne’s Catholic Church serving in Jesus’ name. She served as an Eucharistic minister to elderly shut-ins and was an active member of Legion of Mary and Daughter’s of Isabella. Hope also enjoyed being a Spanish Speaking volunteer at local schools. During her retirement years, she enjoyed traveling with her late husband, hosting family dinners and shopping for a bargain.
Hope is survived by her four loving children Lora (Michael) Young of Stockton, Susan (Jim) Kasinger of Lodi, Mark Newton of Spokane, WA and Pamela (Fred) Campbell of Fresno; grandchildren Tara (Nathan) Spiess, Tim Mahaffey, Alicia Young, Michelle Young, Holly (Shane) Peck, Marissa Benson, Jacquelyn Tongue, Roland Newton, Justine (Chris) Pulver, Patrick (Shelby) Mason and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Richard (Francis) Daniel and many cousins.

VISITATION
A visitation will be held from 9:00am - 11:00am on Saturday October 17, 2020 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home located at 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240. (Only 10 persons at a time).
GRAVESIDE SERVICE
A graveside service will be held following the visitation at 12:00pm Saturday October 17, 2020 at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240. Mask and social distancing are required (outside, may bring your own chair).
