Betty Worland

November 16, 1934 – November 05, 2021

Betty L. Worland (nee Snyder) was born on Nov 16, 1934 in Springfield, MO to Silas M. and Margarette C. Snyder.  She entered eternity on Friday Nov 5, 2021.

In her early teens Betty moved to Oakridge, OR with her mother and three of her siblings. In 1951 while working as a waitress in Oakridge she met James Worland. They married in January 1952 and five of their six children were born in Oregon.  In 1962 the family moved to Clements, CA when Jim started working on the construction of Comanche Reservoir as a heavy equipment mechanic. In February 1968 their sixth child was born in Lodi.

Betty attended Lodi Cosmetology School in 1974 and practiced her craft at several salons in Lockeford, CA.  She also was employed with Woodbridge Golf and Country Club for approximately fifteen years.

In the early nineties Betty drove the Alaska Highway to Anchorage where she lived for several years, then to Issaquah, WA before returning to California where she has resided since.  Betty had an adventurous spirit and was a gifted artist, enjoyed oil painting and quilting.  She loved, mornings, coffee, flowers, bluegrass music, people and visiting with friends and family.  Sadly, the onset of dementia in 2013 curtailed many of her activities.  She entered Arbor assisted living in 2016 and after two falls, was moved to the Vienna Convalescent facility in Lodi.  Despite many difficulties and heartbreaking events throughout her life, our mother remained upbeat, loving and forgiving-always with a smile on her face.

As her health rapidly declined over the past few weeks, we, her children and grandchildren are forever thankful that we were able to bring her to her granddaughter Kristen’s home to spend her final days surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

We rejoice that mom is now with her Lord and Savior and loved ones in Heaven.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Rusty Snyder, James Snyder, Willie Snyder, sister Wanda Oliver and two sons, Michael Allen Worland and Douglas Allen Worland.

She is survived by her children, Daniel (Peggy) Worland, Marieta (Mark) Drumm, Shawnee (Ken) Blackwell and Clint (Lisa) Worland and 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
