Leonard (LA) Alva Hill, age 83, passed away on January 6, 2022 just one week before his 84th birthday.
He was born in Oklahoma and his family moved to Stockton when he was a young boy. He met Beneva, the love of his life, for the first time when he was 13 years old. He served in the Navy (active and reserves) from 1955 to 1961. He always loved to tell jokes, write backwards letters, played the guitar and harmonica, and visit with friends. Leonard and Beneva tied the knot in 1957 and were married for 60 wonderful years. They loved to travel and together visited 42 states.
Leonard is survived by sons, Leonard W (Debbie) Hill, Robert (Karen) Hill; daughter, Carolyn (David) Malitz; sister, Joyce Russell; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beneva Hill; parents, Leonard W and Celestia Hill; brother, Robert Niles; and sisters, Shirley Ledford and Mary Hill.
SERVICE
There will be a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 17 at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery, Highway 99 at Harney Ln, 14165 N Beckman Road, Lodi, CA 95240.
