January 31, 1927 - January 22, 2022
MaryJean (Brown) Kooyman was born at Mason Hospital on January 31, 1927, to the late Louis and Irene Brown. She met the love of her life, Al, while in the 8th grade on the steps of St. Anne's School. They married June 22,1947 and lived on Kooyman Bros. Dairy. They eventually moved to Lodi in 1956. MaryJean loved to cook and she and Al enjoyed entertaining and opened their home to all ages. Friends and Family often mention how much they loved going to "The Locust House". She loved vacationing on the Beaches of Santa Cruz every Summer and playing bridge with her Bridge Group. She had many talents and loved crafting and antiquing. MaryJean and Al took great pride in their splendid garden and sharing their vegetables with so many friends. Every Sunday she would make pancakes for those who would stop by after church. She belonged to Omega Nu, Lodi Marc Club, St. Annes's Catholic Church and Woodbridge Golf and Country Club. where they met many wonderful friends.
MaryJean was known for her kind eyes and smile. She was a devoted wife, mother, nana and gigi.
She is survived by her husband, Al Kooyman; half siblings, Karen Roman, Louis G. Brown, William Brown and Peggy Gelman; her four children and spouses, Kerry Gaines (Bill), Robi Hoellwarth (Raylan), Tim Kooyman (Patty) and Kelley Luiz (Mickey); 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
We know when she met the Lord He said "Well done My kind Servant".
