Daniel Worland

August 3, 1952 - October 21, 2022

Daniel Lee Worland, 70, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away October 21st, 2022 due to complications from a planned heart surgery. He was surrounded by close family.

Dan was born August 3rd, 1952 in Oakridge, OR to James and Betty Worland. The oldest of 6 siblings, early life saw him and the family move from Oakridge, to Barstow, CA and later to Clements, CA. Dan attended the Clements Elementary School and graduated from Lodi High School in 1970.

Dan had a passion for fishing, being outdoors, all things firearms, garage sales, prospecting and generally just hunting for “treasures” as he would say. He was always handy, creative, and seemingly able to build anything. He was a skilled fabricator in both metal and woodworking and was an artistic soul in his own way.

In 2004, after a chance meeting, Dan reconnected with an old friend Peggy and two years later they were married. Together they took off on an adventure. In 2013, they moved everything to Alaska and carved out a new life “way up north”. They made new and wonderful friends, shared new experiences together, and lived out their dreams day by day.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and James, and his brothers Michael and Douglas. He is survived by his wife Peggy Worland, daughter Candace Heyd (hus. Mike Heyd), siblings Marieta Drumm (hus. Mark Drumm), Shawnee Blackwell (hus. Ken Blackwell), and Clint Worland (wife: Lisa Worland) as well as many nieces and nephews.
