October 6, 1959 - July 18, 2022
Sandra Kay Patricia Wells was born October 6, 1959 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Donald and Adeline Wells. Sandra had many fond memories of her small town and Lake Michigan. She completed high school in Georgia and her LPN degree in Hensdale, Illinois. Eventually she migrated to California where her family had relocated. There she earned her RN at Loma Linda University and her Bachelor’s degree at California State Stanislaus. Sandra settled in Stockton to be near family and began working at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, she worked there for 17 years. In 1996 she graduated from UCSF with her Master’s degree and became a Nurse Practitioner. Sandra eventually went to work at Stockton Hematology/Oncology as an NP for 16 years. Her last career stop was at Kaiser Permanente as the NP for the Oncology Survivorship program
Sandra had a huge heart and went out of her way to help people. She was kind, loving, thoughtful, and loyal. In 2001 she took on her biggest role and became a mother to Alex. A few years later, Thomas arrived. Her sons were her biggest joy and her life revolved around being their “mom”.
Sandra loved travel, the ocean, scuba diving, camping, bicycling (she rode 150 miles twice), baking (especially her famous Christmas sugar cookies), and reading.
She is survived by her sons Alex and Thomas, her sister Marion Bynum, niece and nephews Roxanne Shimizu (Dave), James Shearer (Debbie), Steven Shearer, great nephew Dakota, and her long time best friend Dorene Tomei (Charlie). Her brother Don proceeded her in death.
Sandra left us much too soon and will always be in our hearts.
