Antonio Mena

July 8th, 1984 - May 21st, 2023

Antonio Luis Mena, 38, of Lodi, California, passed away on May 21st, 2023. He was born on July 8th, 1984, in French Camp, California, to Antonio Mena Sr. and Ana Ruba.

For many years, Antonio worked alongside his father, Tony Sr., in their auto body repair business. Prior to his illness, he worked as an Armed Security Guard at various Security companies in the Stockton, Tracy and Bay area.

Antonio was a kind and loving person with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his friends and spent a lot of time rebuilding motorcycles with his father.  He loved his family and especially loved hanging out with his three nephews, Joe, Ben, and Luke, who fondly referred to him as "Uncle Favorite".

Although Antonio had not attended church for many years, at an early age, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at Trinity Baptist Church in Stockton, California.

Antonio is survived by his father Antonio Mena Sr., mother Ana Ruba, and sisters, Jessica Mena, Nadine Mena Jones, and Steffy Mena. He is preceded in death by his brother Alexander Mena.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will follow on a later date and will be announced at the service.

Naomi Monk

May 25, 1936 - May 13, 2023

Naomi Carrie Lucinda Allen-Monk was born on May 25th, 1936, to Grace and Bill Allen in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where she spent most of her young adult life. She worked as an elevator operator and was also a caretaker during that time. She was raised in church and baptized at an early age but didn’t receive the Holy Ghost until 1958. She attended Zion Pentecostal Church in Atlantic City. During this time God had anointed her to play the piano for the church. She was a Sunday school teacher, a secretary of The Pastor’s Aid, and had begun a youth choir. In 1960 she became reacquainted with a childhood friend while caring for his terminally ill sister. This encounter would change the course of history for both Naomi and Thomas G. Monk.

In 1963, they married and relocated to Japan where Thomas was stationed while serving in the U.S. Air Force. In Japan they met missionaries from Stockton, California (The Zeno’s) who attended First Pentecostal Church on Cherokee Lane. After receiving an honorable discharge from the military in 1966, Thomas and Naomi were set to return to Atlantic City, but before returning they made a stop in Stockton to visit the Zeno’s and attend the church that had sent them to the mission field in Japan. Once they made it to Stockton, they never left. As this God-ordained journey led them to stay right here and become members of what is now Christian Life Center.

Naomi became very active in the ministry of music. She taught Sunday school, was active in prison ministry, new believers ministry, sheep fold ministry, and ladies prayer ministry. Her motto was “If I can help somebody as I travel along, then my living will not be in vain.”. The song “Ordinary People” was one that she loved to sing, as it blessed many who heard her sing it. She had six children; Crystal Compton, Cheryl Allen (who went on to be with the Lord), Sylvia Jackson, Faith Hardiman, Lotta Monk, Karl Monk, (with his wife, Jazzlin Monk), twelve grandchildren; Letticia Ntofon, Nsini Ntofon, Sherrell Marie Mandolph, Houston James Mandolph (who went on to be with the Lord), Evester Ray Harper Jr., Sarah Hardiman, Dante Williams (with his wife, Claudia Ortiz-Wiliams), Kiara Marie Franklin-Monk, Taniah L. Jackson, Raja Fincher, Kaleb Monk, and Evan Monk, and seventeen great-grandchildren; Diji Diallo, Feyu Diallo, Mukulu Diallo, Ajani Washington, Ymani Janell Butler, Christopher Larnell Butler II, Sharlette Rose Marie Butler, Aaliyah Sheree Butler, Ajanae Lee, Jason Lee, Charlie Wilson, Mila Rose Williams, Cienna Lila Williams, Kior Carter, and Kyrique Carter. She was well loved and will be dearly missed. Although we mourn hey loss, we rejoice at Heaven’s gain and are thankful for the life and legacy she has left behind. On Saturday, May 13th, 2023, she went home to be with the Lord and on to her reward.

“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord” -2 Corinthians 5 : 8
