Michael Lloyd Ratto
May 8, 1946 - October 22, 2023

Michael L. Ratto died peacefully with his family surrounding him on October 22, 2023. Michael was born in Stockton, the oldest child of Lloyd W. and Marie A. Ratto. He played football for St. Mary’s High School and upon graduation he attended Delta College and then went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly SLO. He entered the Marine Corps in December of 1969. He served in Okinawa and earned the rank of Captain. He separated from the Corps in May of 1974. He was married to Catherine A Dyer in July of 1974. He and Cathy raised 2 children, Elizabeth and James. He was a beloved 4-H leader in San Joaquin County for over 30 years. He was also a Hunter Safety Instructor for the State of California for over 35 years. He retired from the Almond Board of California in 2012. Mike was affectionately known as The Almond Cop on the job. At home he was Dad and in 2011 he became Grandpa. Throughout his life, Mike was an avid and competitive shooter, winning a multitude of matches as a Marine, a 4-H leader in the California State Postal Shoot, and at statewide matches in his retirement. He was active with the American Legion Post 22 in Lodi, serving for a short time on their executive board. He was influential in many lives, more that he probably realized. Mike is survived by his wife Cathy, his daughter and her husband Elizabeth and Mark Racicot. His son and his wife James and Melissa. He has 4 grandchildren, Madison, Julia, Avery, and Kassidy.

A viewing will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park on Monday October 30, 2023 from 4-6pm. Burial will be private at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. A memorial will be held at the Eagle Lodge on Lockeford Street in Lodi on November 12 , 2023 at 2pm. The family encourages anyone who Mike had a positive impact on to attend the Memorial.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Legion Post 22 to maintain their firearms and ceremonial detail.

Nelson Docot

June 22, 1946 - October 20, 2023

Nelson Deocareza Docot, age 77, of Stockton, California, passed away on October 20, 2023. He was born in Bacon, Sorsogon - Bicol, Philippines on June 22, 1946, to the late Marcela Delima Deocareza and Rodolfo Docot. He was the 6th of 10 children. Preceding him in death were his parents, his brothers and sisters; Conception Docot Dineros, Arturo Docot, Mariano Docot, Vilma Docot Dedase and Ruby Docot Montera.

He was a devoted Christian, dedicating his life to Jehovah God on January 10, 1969. He was a faithful servant who served as an Elder and Minister in the congregation for over 50 years until his passing. He enjoyed gardening, playing with their dogs (Nipsey, Nizmo and Zeek), spending time with his family and spreading the word of God with his brothers and sisters in faith.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gedeliza Dato Docot, his children; Edison Docot (Amelia Balatico), Jonathan Docot, Neliza Esqueda (Alfredo Esqueda), Ginalyn Asuncion (Johnny Asuncion), Michael Docot (Michelle Samoy), Michelle Moreno (Nick Moreno) and his 15 Grandchildren who affectionately called him “Tatay”. Jeffrey, Aileen, Christopher, JJ, Marc, Alina (Dylan Betos), Dominic, Karissa, Kiana, Jaiden, Maleah, Cameron, Zoey, Malakai, Giovanni and his 2 Great grandchildren, Mia and Hudson. Also, by his brothers and sisters; Lilia Docot Jarabejo, Corazon Docot Elona, Raul Docot and Arnel Docot, along with his many family members in the Philippines.

He had a strong faith and assured expectation that although he may be asleep in death, he will be raised to life again in a beautiful, peaceful paradise earth where tears of sorrow become tears of joy.

His warm heart, generosity, love of Jehovah God and unwavering love for his family will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. In his memory, may we find solace in cherished moments and the love he shared with those he held dear.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 12pm-7pm and Funeral services on Saturday, November 4 at 1pm at Cherokee Memorial, 14165 Beckman Road, Lodi, CA. 95240.

Glendola McMillen

Glendola Hunger McMillen
August 12, 1923 - October 17, 2023

Glendola McMillen passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023 after a long illness.

She was born on August 12, 1923 in Quapaw, Oklahoma to Carl and Myrtle Hunger. Her family moved to California in 1939. She graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1943. She was married to William Earl McMillen for 54 years. She worked for Lodi Unified School District as a cook at various schools for 40 years.

She enjoyed walking to Lodi Lake every day, playing bingo, reading, baking, going to Jackson and Lake Tahoe and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and taking a cruise to the Panama Canal and Alaska. On her Eighty-eighth birthday she went skydiving to cross that off of her bucket list.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Cheri) McMillen, Shirley (Erminio) Urias, Gary McMillen, and Diana (Bill) Selles. Grandchildren: Erik Urias, Adam (Janine) Urias, Bret Urias, Mary McMillen, Tyler (Missy) Selles, Aaron (Zoe) Selles. Great Grandchildren: Hannah Martin, Emma Wachtler, Inara Urias, Hunter Urias, Reagan Urias, Jett Urias, Ellie Selles, and Reese Selles. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

Glendola was preceded in death by her husband William Earl McMillen, and her nine brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be on November 5, 2023 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Cherokee Memorial Park in the Merlot Room. Graveside services will be held on November 6, 2023 at 11:30am at Cherokee Memorial Park in the Garden of Trees.

Tom Freeman

February 8, 1953 - October 16, 2023

George Thomas Freeman Jr. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend was born on February 8, 1953, in Stockton, California, to his loving parents, George and Mabel Freeman. Tom departed this world peacefully on October 16th, 2023.

Tom's life was a testament of his unwavering dedication to his family, his passion for construction, and his deep love for the great outdoors and above all a dedicated christian.

Tom attended Lodi High School. In his senior year he met and fell in love with Kathy Davis. They got married just one week after their high school graduation on June 19, 1971. Their bond was unbreakable, and they have been inseparable ever since. 

Tom and Kathy embarked on a remarkable journey that included the birth of three amazing sons and the founding of TNT Construction.

In 2020, Tom and Kathy made the decision to retire in Valley Springs. Retirement couldn’t slow Tom down; he continued to live life to the fullest, enjoying his favorite pastimes: hunting with his sons, and fishing with his friends. His laughter and wisdom will forever be cherished through the memories of his family and friends. 

Tom was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a skilled craftsman. His kindness, generosity, and warm spirit endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. While we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life that touched so many hearts and left an indelible mark on the world. His love for his family knew no bounds, and his legacy will live on through the generations he leaves behind.

He is preceded in death by his son, Adam Freeman.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy. His children; Jason, Carman, Sundi, Jon and Brooke Freeman.

Tom was Papa to Nicole, Nicolas (Kaytlin), Ashleigh, Alexa Byrd (Noah), Maddie and Mia Freeman. Additionally, he had the joy of welcoming a great-grandson, Adam Byrd, in 2022.

Tom was a loyal brother, he leaves behind his siblings, Joann McDonnell and Michael Freeman, he is preceded in death by Tina McKenzie and Johnny Freeman. 

A visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00 on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home.

Keith Selleseth

September 11, 1932 - October 16, 2023

Keith Selleseth, 91, of Lodi, California, passed away on October 16, 2023. Born on September 11, 1932, in Sacramento, California, Keith was the beloved husband of Carol Selleseth for 63 years. He was the loving father on Richard Selleseth, Jennifer Garcia, Renee Golden (Gary) and Dana Woltkamp. Keith was also a cherished grandfather to Brandon Golden, Michelle Faul (Jeff), Jillian Wagers, Lisa Nunez (Nick), Ashley Thomson (Scott), Kimberly Jorgensen (Kraig), Nicole McCabe (James), Kristen Reisinger (Andrew), and Gregg Stevens (Faith), and a great-grandfather to 17 great-grandchildren.

Keith was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Seleeseth, his mother Nellie Selleseth, his sister Sonja Downing, and his nephews, Philip Adams and John Downing. He is survived by his sister, Joan Adams.

Keith attended Grant Union High School and went on to have a successful career in real estate. He started as a real estate broker on June 30, 1978, and later became the President of the Board of Realtors in 1988. Keith’s dedication and hard work led him to be named Realtor of the Year in 1989 and he was honored with induction into the Realtor Hall of Fame in 2015.

In his free time, Keith enjoyed playing golf and going on vacations with his friends and family. He found joy in spending quality time with his loved ones and creating lasting memories.

Keith’s graveside services will be held privately, with memorial services to be scheduled for a later time. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Cherokee Memorial in Lodi, California.

Charles Jones

Charles (Chuck) Lee Jones – Age 85 years
Passed away Oct 13, 2023.

Charles was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Sharon Jones for 63 years. He was a father to their three children Melinda Jones (Billy), Melissa Jones (Tommy) and Scott Jones (Serena). He was an amazing Grandpa (Pop) to Jamie Jr. (Alexis), Nicholas (Jacqs) Samantha, Darien, Christine, Ryan, and Katie. A loving Great Grandpa to Malesa, Jordyn, Dylan, Warren, Alden, Aryana and R.J. Charles has one surviving brother Dick Jones (Dianne). He is proceeded in death by his parents Jack & Nettie Jones, his brother John Paul Jones and Sister Brenda Huff. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Charles was born on Nov 17, 1937 in Dover, Arkansas. The family then moved to Linden, CA. where Charles graduated from Linden High School in 1956. Not long after, Charles married the love of his life Sharon Mauser on Nov 1, 1959. They then built their home in Stockton, CA where they raised their 3 children. Charles had a unique talent working with wood and through the years running a lumber company called Ply Pac, and then retiring from Alpine Mill & Lumber company.  He became a very talented craftsmen and was able to create beautiful pieces of furniture that he put his heart into with everything he made with his hands. Every night after dinner he would go into his shop and work into the night on his projects.  Upon retirement, Charles enjoyed spending time with Sharon tending to their yard and garden. He and Sharon enjoyed going for rides in his white Ford pickup which he loved so much. He enjoyed the holidays with his family and looked forward to all the sweets his daughters would bring him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful smile. Charles (Chuck, Dad, Pop), will be greatly missed and always remembered by those who knew and loved him.
