Nancy Louise Marraccini-Suares
March 1, 1954 - August 10, 2024
A special person to everyone. A light in any setting. Nancy Louise Marraccini-Suares, aged 70, of Stockton, CA, passed away at Summerfield Memory Care of Stockon on August 10 th , 2024.
Born in Stockton in 1954 to Ben and Mae Marraccini, she was the eldest of three siblings and spent the vast majority of life in her hometown. Raised in the countryside, she cherished running barefoot through the freshly plowed fields.
Nancy met Barry, the love of her life, while working at Harold Thompsons Flooring. She served as an assistant to the head of accounting, and he was an apprentice floor installer. Their friendship blossomed over the years, culminating in a kiss that marked the beginning of their special journey together. Nancy and Barry enjoyed a remarkable 40-year marriage.
Nancy had her first child, Ricky, in 1976 from a previous marriage. In 1988, she welcomed her second child, Alex, with Barry. She took great joy in watching her children grow up into strong, supportive, and compassionate men; Regularly checking in with her sons as they built their own families. Her children meant the world to her.
The news of becoming a grandmother brought Nancy great joy. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and loved attending sporting events, school activities, birthdays, and more. She never missed an opportunity to show her love and support for her grandkids and made sure they knew grandma loved them.
Throughout her career, Nancy worked for various employers. She ultimately retired from San Joaquin County Revenue & Recovery after more than 30 years of dedicated service. It was here that she met her best friend, Lola, and formed a lifelong bond.
Anyone who knew Nancy was aware of her profound love for helping people in any capacity possible. She thoroughly enjoyed assisting others, often prioritizing their needs above her own, embodying the very definition of altruism. Nancy also had a passion for gardening. She often experimented growing various vegetables and fruits in her side garden and watched the hummingbirds visit. For her, it was a way to relax and unwind from the day. When she craved for something sweet, she would often bake for her family and friends. Banana bread was her specialty. Her absolute favorite activity was spending time with the family. Whether it was Thanksgiving dinner or a trip to Disneyland, Nancy was always there to make lasting memories.
Nancy will always be remembered for her bright and sunny disposition and the way that she always made anyone feel welcomed and comforted. Her smile is something that will never be forgotten. Her family couldn’t have asked for a better spouse, daughter, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend, and will miss Nancy every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. She was a special person to all.
Nancy was preceded in death by her mother Mae Marraccini, and is survived by her husband of 40 years, Barry Suares; her father Ben Marraccini; her brother Michael Marraccini and his wife Penny; her brother David Marraccini; her son Ricky Purviance and his wife Edith; her son Alex Suares and his wife Allison; her nephew Steven Marraccini; her niece Gina Marraccini; and three grandchildren, Ashley Kinsella and her husband Dylan, Dominic Purviance, and Kolbie Suares.
A memorial and celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 Beckman Road, Lodi, CA, on Monday, August 26th , 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
