James J. Bitz, age 76 passed away Tuesday, September 9th, 2015 in Lodi, California. James was born in Logan County, North Dakota on August 15th, 1939, to John and Mary (Stoller) Bitz.
The family moved to Lodi in 1957 and James graduated from Lodi High School in 1958. James joined the U.S. Army on October 12th, 1959 and most of his service time was spent in Japan. James was discharged on January 22nd, 1962.
Jim was employed with Geohring Meats for 17.5 years until the plant closed. He then was employed with General Mills for 17.5 years until his retirement in 2006.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Wanda, his son Brian, and his grandson Brandon Bitz. Brother, Frank (Luella) Bitz, and sister, Phyllis (Tiny)(Ron Kasaka) Pleasant, along with one nephew and two nieces. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Harley Parks and sister-in-law Colleen Parks.

SERVICES
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Evergreen Chapel, Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi, CA 95240.
INTERMENT
Interment will follow the Funeral Service at Cherokee Memorial Park.
