Curtice Eugene Ervin, 69, a longtime Stockton resident, born on May 2, 1946 and passed away peacefully on September 9, 2015 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Curt is preceded by his beloved wife, Barbara, who passed away in May, 2014. Curt has seven siblings, Betty (Stephen), Wilma (Larry), Vonda, Joyce, Richard (Carol), he is preceded in death by mother Juanita, father Bill, and brothers Albert and Dale. Curt’s legacy lives on with his daughter Nicki (& Gary), son Curtice (& Stacy), and youngest son Christopher. Jesse and Lu were very much a part of his heart as his children from his marriage with Barbara. Curt has 7 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Curt had a love for the Oakland Raiders, the 99 Speedway and NASCAR. In 1964 Curt was named NASCAR Rookie of the year at the 99 Stockton Speedway.
In his early twenties Curt became a successful Insurance Broker and became Vice President of the Stockton Association of Insurance Underwriters, and a member of the Million Dollar Round Table. Curt also served on the committee to elect Ronald Regan for California Governor. Curt served in the National Guard and was later honorably discharged.
Many people may recognize Curt as one of the familiar faces of Cherokee Memorial Park where he worked for the last 17 years, helping those families who had lost a loved one. Curt will be missed by not only his family, but his friends and his community. Curt had a motto of “Do something nice for someone and don’t get caught doing it”. Curt truly lived by that motto..
