Betty Elinor Murphy
Betty passed away peacefully on December 10, 2015. She was born in Ione, California on March 17, 1920 to Ila Silbole and Jack Leonesio. She is survived by her 
son Sam Matranga (Yoli), stepdaughters, Sharon Garibaldi, Corie Coleman, and Marilyn Lewis, stepsons, Brandon Murphy and David Murphy, granddaughters, Lisa Matranga, Kelli Ann Gai, Tara Ransfer, Andrea Murphy-Lawton; grandsons Eric Chaney, Todd Garibaldi, Kaleb Lewis, Aaron Murphy, Mathew Murphy, Dennis Murphy and many wonderful great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Eugene Murphy, stepdaughter, Melanie Sue Bowers and grandsons, Mark and Frank Matranga and Ryan Murphy preceded her in death.
Betty was a lifelong resident of Stockton retiring from Pacific Bell after 30 years of service as an office supervisor. She enjoyed connecting with people through many activities. She was a Pink Lady for 30 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary; she was a member of the Lodi Widow Persons Association, the Morada Art & Garden Club and the Philomathean Club.
VISITATION
Friends are welcome to a visitation on Thursday, December 17th between 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 E. Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240
SERVICES
The family is honoring her wishes by having a private service.
