Mary Margaret "Peggy" Thompson, 53, of Acampo, CA, passed away December 10, 2015 after a battle with colon cancer, in the presence of family and loved ones. Peggy was a 1980 graduate of Galt Hight School and went on to earn her LVN from Sacramento City College, where she won the "Most Spirited" award in her class. She worked 35 years at the Golden Living Center in Galt, CA and also spent time volunteering for Children's Dream Works and participating in Relay for Life. Peggy dedicated her free time to completing her "bucket list", which included kayaking, zip-lining, hot air ballooning, pulling pranks on friends and being an "excellent golfer".
Peggy is survived by her husband of 31 years Russell "Rusty" Thompson, daughters Jacquie Nunez (Benny), and Tabatha Thompson (Whitney), two grandchildren Anthony and Azalea Nunez, siblings Howard Garner (Marci), Linda Garner, Michelle Anderson, Jayda Davis (Charlie), Ed Machado, Joe Machado, Julie Greenhalgh (Carl), Tony Machado, Melodee Machado (Greg Seifert) and BFFs Lisa Pollard-Lagomarsino and Teresa O'Bryan.
In Lieu of flowers Peggy had requested that a donation be made to Children's Dream Works, 11797 East Hwy 12, Lockeford, CA 95237.
SERVICES
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on December 19, 2015 at Seifert Brothers Hay location at 25801 N. Sowles Rd, Acampo.
