Arlene Mae Walker passed away in her sleep at her home in Stockton, Calif. on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the age of 83. Arlene was married to Joseph Garland Walker for 23 years and they had four children, Linda, Joseph (Joey), Patricia (Patty) and Patrick Steven.
Arlene was born in Lodi on March 15, 1931. Arlene worked at Del Monte Cannery for 19 years. She enjoyed quilting with her sisters, hosting pickling parties over the years with her family and playing cards.
Arlene is survived by her daughters, Linda Carol Wallace and Patricia Arlene Needham, her son, Patrick Steven Walker, her brothers, Theodore Wagenman, Harvey Wagenman, her sisters, Betty Batterton, Evelyn Busby, Marion Sell, and Alice McCready. Survived by 9 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Garland Walker; her parents, Jacob Wagenman and Elizabeth Layer; her son, Joseph Dewain Walker; her grandsons, Christopher Reed and Jesse Joe Walker; her sisters, Florence Sexton and Nancy McDaniels.
The funeral service will be held in Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, at 1 p.m. March 20. Patrick Steven Walker will be officiating. A reception will immediately follow at Arlene’s home. Cherokee Memorial will be taking care of funeral arrangements.
