Lance Selkirk

November 16, 1944 - October 18, 2021

Lance Reamer Selkirk passed away Monday, October 18th at his home in Lodi, California. Lance was born in Galesburg, Illinois but moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado as a young boy. It was in Colorado that Lance met and later married the love of his life, Charlotte “Charlie” Selkirk, his high school sweetheart and childhood neighbor.

Lance enlisted in the Air Force in 1966 and spent time on an Air Force base in Vietnam before earning his honorable discharge as a Sargent in 1970. It was then that he and Charlie decided to leave the Colorado snow behind and made the move to Lodi. In the 70s Lance started working at Johnson Wax, a company that he would stay with through retirement and would give him lifelong friends. When his daughter Paige was younger Lance enjoyed the life of a softball dad and jazz band roadie and even had a brief stint as the booking agent for the Hot n‘ Tots Jazz Band.

In retirement Lance was able to pursue his lifelong passion, classic cars. First purchasing a 1929 then a 1931 Model A, Lance and Charlie were very active in both the Delta and Tokay A groups. He loved traveling both at home and abroad with his newfound Model A family. Lance was an amazing friend and truly a loving, generous man. His final advice was to live life in kindness, something he excelled at. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his only child Paige Turley, her wife Gina, his grandson Gabriel, brother Chuck, his wife Maryanne, their son Trevor, his Eilers Lane family who he loved and the Travelers. He left this earth to meet back up with his wife of 55 years Charlie.

He was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
