On Saturday, November 6th 2021, Tommy Lee Edwards, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away at the age of 77.
Tommy was born October 4th, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His family later moved to Stockton, Ca where he graduated from Franklin High School and enlisted in the Army at the age of 17. He proudly served his country and was stationed in Korea for a year. He heroically returned home to begin his career and start his journey with Pacific Bell as an installer. He worked his way up over his 30 year career at Pac Bell into Management positions and Systems Technician Consultant where he proudly installed the first 911 system for Stockton. On November 22, 1980 he married Teresa Villalpando and together they raised two children, Wayne and Denise.
Tommy had a great passion for hunting, shooting, and collecting rare stamps and coins. After retirement, he could be found each Wednesday at the local coffee shops having breakfast with his buddies from high school and other phone men. He was known for his quick wit, generosity, and his wonderful love of practical jokes.
Tommy was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ruth and his father Clyde.
He is survived by his life partner Teresa Edwards, 2 children Wayne Edwards and Denise (Todd) Gerrow, brothers Charlie Rhodes and Kenny Edwards, sister Betty Blankenship, his two prized grandchildren; Hannah and Joshua whom he loved without measure, and of course his devoted dog Sarah who travelled with him everywhere.
SERVICE
Funeral services will take place at the Cherokee Cemetery of Lodi at the Garden of Freedom in front of the Eagle and Waterfall on Thursday, November 18th at 11 a.m.
Celebration of life will immediately follow at the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club.
