Joseph Bewley

April 3, 1941 - March 18, 2021

Joe was born on April 3, 1941 and died on March 18, 2021 at the age of 79. He was the beloved husband of R. Monique "Mickey" Bewley.

Joseph was schooled in the Santa Maria area and graduated from California State Polytechnic College in San Luis Obispo in Dec. 1965 with a Bachelor Degree in Biological Science and an added year for Secondary Teaching Credentialing.

His first job was as a part time service station attendant while also attending college from June 1959 through April 1965. He was then employed at the California Department of Corrections in Los Padres as a correctional officer from April 1965 through September 1967. Shortly after, he began to work for the US Food and Drug Administration as an Inspector in Los Angeles from October 1967 through April 1970. Joe moved to Lodi when he received a promotion in the State of California Department of Health Food and Drug at the Stockton branch as a Supervising Food and Drug Inspector from April of 1970 to May 1, 1998. Retirement was not for this man, so he went to work for the DFA of California Safe Food Alliance in Sacramento as a Food Safety auditor, from 1998 to the time of his recent illness.

Joe was an active member of the Fairmont Seventh Day Adventist Church for most of his adult life. He loved our God, and he loved our church. Joe was a very active, participating member of our church. He sang in the choir, was an assistant Deacon, and was also involved with the audio and tape ministry. Joe led out in song service at the Vienna Convalescent Hospital. He was a helper where ever needed - Vacation Bible School, Health Ministries, and Community Service - if there was work to be done, Joe was one of the first to volunteer.

Joe leaves his beloved wife, Mickey; his daughter, Robin Bewley Marchetti (Bill) of Hollister; his stepchildren, Colleen Kinsley Greenlaw (Delwayne) of TN; Paul D. Kinsley (Candace) of Huntington Beach and Kelly A. Kinsley (Beverly) of McKinleyville. He was a proud and loving grandfather to, Bill, Kayla and Nicholas Marchetti of CA, Aaron R. Mastro, of Lodi, Megan O. Kinsley Wait of TN, Ian Christian-Collin Greenlaw of TN, Kristopher P. Kinsley of TX, Sarah M. Kinsley of TX, Micah N. and Anya T.
