Dorene Irma (Piccardo) Lagorio, age 88, of Linden, California, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 13th , 2021. She was born on June 24th, 1933 in Stockton, CA to Rachele (Bottini) and Giuseppe (Joe) Piccardo. She attended Jackson grammar school and graduated from Stockton College in 1951.
Dorene met the “love of her life” and married Alvin Virgil Lagorio on October 25th, 1953, they created a wonderful life together in Linden and were blessed to spend over 60 years together.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin and wife Mistii, Brian and wife Vicki; grandchildren, Devin, Adriianna, Giianna, James, and Josef; great grandchild Jack and brother-in-law Norman and wife Sandra.
She enjoyed gardening, she was a member of the Linden Garden Club, also helped to start the first private ambulance service in Linden, CA with Dr. Harry Sanberg. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at Holy Cross, a volunteer for St. Joseph’s Hospital as a candy striper and a member of the Evergreen Circle #15, Druids.
SERVICE
A service will be held on Friday, August 13th, 2021 at 10:00a.m. at the Vineyard Chapel in Cherokee Memorial Park, located at 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi, CA 95240.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in honor of Dorene’s memory may be made to: Stockton’s Children Home, 430 N. Pilgrim Street, Stockton, Ca 95205 or Evergreen Circle #15, Druids , Attention: Marilyn Avansino, 16820 E. Comstock Rd. Linden, CA 95236 to establish a scholarship fund or Hospice of San Joaquin.
