Mrs. Kathleen Louise Scheideman, longtime resident of Lodi, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, January 3, 2022. Daughter of Edward and Mabel (Slater) Harrigan, Kathleen was born on November 14, 1926 in Battle Creek, Michigan. In the 1930s, when she was still a young girl, her family moved to El Centro, California. In 1947, while attending Pacific Union College in Angwin, she married George Scheideman of Lodi. The family lived on Stockton St. before settling in 1958 in the home on Lodi Ave where George and Kathleen lived the rest of their lives. They were longtime members of the Fairmont SDA Church, and she volunteered for many years at Lodi Memorial Hospital.
Kathleen is survived by daughter Candace Hadley and husband Dr. Dean Hadley of Redlands, son George D. Scheideman III and husband Thomas Chatt of Los Angeles, son-in-law Kenneth Meyers of Lodi; granddaughter Dr. Allison Hadley and husband Nathan Shultz of Portland, Oregon, grandson Dr. Zachary Hadley and wife Dr. Tiffany Hadley of Redlands; five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years George D. Scheideman, daughter Linda Meyers, and sister Ione Hunt.
A memorial service will be planned for a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to Lodi Academy, 1230 S. Central Ave., Lodi, CA 95240.
