June 29, 1943 - January 10, 2022
Everett R. Goold, Jr, better known as Bud Goold, died at the age of 78 in Dameron Hospital on January 10, 2022 after several months of declining health. He was born June 29,1943 to Everett R. Goold, Sr. and Elizabeth Goold. Bud lived in Stockton most of his life. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961 and then joined the US Navy. After he completed his tour of duty, he returned to Stockton and enrolled at San Joaquin Delta College. During his summer vacations, he worked at his late father's construction company, R. Goold & Son. After Delta College, he continued his education at Sacramento State where he earned a Bachelors' degree in Police Science.
While he was at Sacramento State, he met Loree Keeffe and they were married in August 1968. They both went back to Sacramento State to finish their college degrees. In February of 1969, he and Loree returned to Stockton so Bud could work for R. Goold & Son.
In January 1971, their first son, Glenn, was born. Their second son, Dean, was born in 1973. Both of their sons have fond memories of the time that they spent with their Dad. Bud supported their interest in Little League and he even coached Dean's team. Bud also took Glenn and Dean on fishing trips to the Klamath River. One of their favorite yearly events was the Dove Shoot with the Coddington family.
In 1987, Bud started his own company, Bud Goold Backhoe Service. He operated his business until August 1998 when he had a massive stroke. After that he worked very hard to learn how to walk and talk again. With the loving support and care of family, Bud was able to live independently for many years. He was not able to work but he was able to be a loving grandfather, to his five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Logan, Aris, Peja, Payton and his great grandson, Lincoln.
Even though Loree and Bud had separated prior to his stroke, they remained friends and shared many family holidays and get-togethers.
Bud was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Joan Cowger, his brother-in-law, John Pappa and his nephew, Chuck (Charles) Cowger. He is survived by his sons, Glenn(Karrie) and Dean(Radora), former partner, Loree(Barbara Fluetsch) and his sisters, Beverly Allerdice, Meredith Pappa and Debbie(Phil) Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews.
