Bonnie Terry

March 26, 1928 - May 18, 2022

Bonnie Louise (Miller) Terry passed peacefully May 18th, in Lodi, two months after her 94th birthday and just two weeks after celebrating

75 years of marriage to her beloved husband, Robert (Bud) Terry.

She is also survived by their daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Larry Huiras and Sandy and Wayne Hammer, grandchildren, Justin Huiras, Matt Huiras, Sara Hammer Riordan and Jeff Hammer, their spouses, and eight great grandchildren, as well as countless nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was born in Kentucky to James Miller and Vanna (Rayburn) Miller and moved to Lodi when she was eight years old.  Although her only sister died at a very young age, Bonnie was fortunate to share much of her adult life with her younger brother, Ken Miller, and his wife, Ruby, here in Lodi.

Even during her tenure at Reese and Lakewood Schools preparing cafeteria lunches, Bonnie found the time and took great joy in developing lifelong relationships, giving back to the community and entertaining for the benefit of others.

During her many years of productive life In Lodi with her husband, Bud, she was a member of the PTA at George Washington School, a Girl Scout leader, in the Lodi Eagles Auxiliary, and an activity organizer at Casa de Lodi. In the foothills community of Fiddletown where they lived for 16 years after Bud’s retirement, they were active and valued members of the Moose Lodge.

Bonnie will be remembered as a pleasant, caring woman admired and loved by all who knew her.  Her happiest days always included family and friends, whether at home, on a camping trip or during special gatherings.  She especially enjoyed dancing, card games, vacations in their 5th wheel in the Sierra Foothills and Arizona, and baking her famous assortment of delicious pies for holidays and family occasions. Her grandchildren will tell you she was a fierce competitor at cards and loved playing games with them whenever they visited.

The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff at Oakmont of Lodi and the staff of Bristol Hospice for their compassionate care over the past several months.

Donations in memory of Bonnie may be made to - Bristol Hospice, 1227 Chester Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93301, www.bristolhospicefoundationca.org.
