Jerome Mathiowetz

December 15, 1929 - June 17, 2022

Jerry was born on December 15, 1929 in New Ulm, Minnesota to Raymond and Sarah (Kraus) Mathiowetz. He passed away on June 17, 2022. Jerry’s father passed away when he was only 8 years old. He attended Holy Trinity Schools in New Ulm.

Jerry served in the U.S. Army of Engineers from 1947-1948. His employment took him to Illinois, Wisconsin and New Jersey. He married Donna Glock and in 1950 they welcomed their daughter Diane. Donna passed away on December 23, 1970. In 1973 he moved to Lodi and worked at General Mills until retiring in 1998. He married Jacqueline in 1975. Jackie sadly passed away in 1999.

Jerry enjoyed stamp collecting and do it yourself projects. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. You would always find him at a game or a school graduation. He took numerous trips to Minnesota to visit family and friends. He traveled to Europe twice and also Germany.

He is survived by his granddaughter Sarah Azevedo (John), his three great grandsons Cameron, Colin and Connor, his sister Carole Stieff, step-daughters Tracy (Gene) Moulton, Cheryl (Virgil) Monroe and Cindy Miner, as well as several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Sarah, wives Donna and Jackie, daughter Diane Davis, son-in-law Harold (Ace) Davis, sister Dolores Goldberg, half-sister Connie Guth, step-daughter Debbie Jackson and step-granddaughter Corinna Miner.

SERVICES:
A viewing will be held on Wednesday June 29th from 12-3pm in Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park. A service will be held on Thursday June 30th at 1pm in Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park with interment at Cherokee Memorial Park.
