Joanne Miller

November 21, 1938 - June 5, 2022

God visited us on June 5th to claim one of his dear children. Joanne Miller was born on Nov 21, 1938 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, raised in Los Angeles, California and moved to Stockton California with her husband James Miller in 1964. They celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Joanne worked for Bank of Stockton for 23 and a half years before retirement, after which she and her husband then followed their dreams of living in the country, and moved to Lodi California. Joanne and Jim loved camping and did so several times a year with their longtime friends Elmo & Jeannette Hutchinson.  As an active member in the Elks Lodge, Joanne held positions as President of the Iris Club (2002-2003), and as Emblem Club associate. Her and Jim also volunteered for many years as Mr. and Mrs. Clause at the Elks Lodge, and at the Christmas in the Village event in Fair Oaks California. In addition Joanne spent many happy hours playing Mexican train dominoes with her Red Hat sisters Darlene and Doreen.  As she became less mobile one of the things she enjoyed was spending “date time” with her son in law William whenever Jim had to run errands.

Joanne is survived by her husband James Miller, daughter Debora Miller, Sons Patrick Miller (his wife Stacey) and Charles Miller (his husband William Mercado), along with her grandchildren: Shawn Staat, Elliot Miller, Jeanne Miller; great-grandchildren and all her adopted family members that she cared so much for…being the saint she is.

SERVICES:

Her memorial will be held on July 2nd at 10AM at Cherokee Memorial in Lodi California in the Vineyard Chapel, with gravesite placement to follow.
