July 18, 1935 - September 24, 2022
Jerome (Jerry) Szkodzinski passed away peacefully on September 24, 2022. Jerry was born in Chicago, IL on July 18, 1935, to Joseph and Maria Szkodzinski. He attended Loyola University until he was drafted. Jerry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he met his future bride, Maria Pak. Jerry brought Maria back to the United States and the couple were wed in Montebello, CA in 1959. They soon moved Rowland Heights, where their sons, Peter, Joseph and Michael were born. Jerry’s work as an accountant with a trucking company brought him and the family to Lockeford, CA. They purchased 5 acres on Tretheway Road and, as a family, built their home. Jerry left the trucking company to open his own accounting practice in Stockton and worked doing taxes and bookkeeping until his retirement in 2015. Jerry attended St. Joachim Catholic Church in Lockeford and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his youngest son, Michael.
He is survived by his sister, Christine Pittford, his long-time partner, Patty Gov, his sons Peter (Sofia) Szkodzinski and Joseph Szkodzinski, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Jerry’s memory to Blossom Ridge Hospice, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
