May 3, 1932 - October 1, 2023
Ken passed away peacefully on October 1st. He attended Lodi High School and graduated in 1950. He met and married his high school sweetheart Katherine Buck and became a father of two daughters, Pam and Roxanne. He was an accomplished sheet metal worker employed with Henderson Brothers and later, for Lodi Heating and Air. He was a very avid athlete, playing such sports as softball, basketball, volleyball and bowling. His absolute passion was in cheering and attending the Oakland Raiders games.
Upon his early retirement, Ken was very active with woodworking and refinishing furniture. In his backyard shop, he worked so diligently on refinishing antique pieces, as well as creating wooden tables, shelving units, toys, cabinets and holiday wares. If you are a family member or friend, you probably have something in your home that he made out of wood. After retirement, he and his wife, Kathie, traveled extensively to various United States locations and Canada, for family reunions.
Ken and Kathie, enjoyed watching their grandchildren play various sports and cheering them on. He was a passionate cheerleader for Tokay High School sports and if you attended a Tokay sporting event, you would soon recognize his presence there, especially if one of his grandchildren were participating.
After seventy years together, Ken was preceded in death by the “love of his life”, Kathie. It was so very common for anyone who knew them, that they could be witnessed walking hand-in-hand. With his health failing, Ken was living at Balance Assisted Living, where he received care. The family would like to thank the Hospice Organization and the Caregivers at Balance for the loving care he received there. He had a very special Caregiver, named Maurine, who was a dedicated friend and helped him in navigating his final years of life.
He leaves behind, with so many memories, his daughters, Pam Konefal (Joe) and Roxanne Oddo (Tony), as well as his grandchildren Nathan, Allison, Kristen and Chris. He also leaves behind several great-grandchildren, Kylee, Logan, Brooklyn, Walker and Jordyn.
