Billy Joe Ayers Sr., 79 has passed away. On November 14th 2023 after a long battle with cancer, Bill peacefully passed away at his home with his wife Betty of almost 60 years by his side. Bill was born on April 29,1944 in French Camp, Ca. to Wilson Pershing Ayers Sr. and Leila B. Ayers. After graduating from Stagg High School in 1962 Bill enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served 2 years. He then went on to marry the love of his life Betty in 1964, have 2 children and earn an Associates of Arts Degree from Delta College of Stockton. Bill worked as a civilian at the Navy Communications Station at Rough And Ready Island where he retired after dedicating 30 years of service. After retiring Bill worked for MV Transportation for many years. Bill loved life and family! He enjoyed many hobbies and interests especially fishing, building model ships and vintage cars. He was preceded in death by his son Billy J. Ayers Jr; Parents, Wilson P. Ayers Sr. and Leila B. Ayers; Brothers, Ron D. Ayers (Ronnie); Wilson P. Ayers Jr (Sonny); and sister Bobby Winchester. He leaves behind his loving wife Betty Ayers of Stockton, Ca.; Daughter, Stacie Stidham and husband (Richard) of Copperopolis, Ca.; Brother, David Ayers Sr. of Lodi, Ca. and sister Wanda Henderson (sis) of Lodi, Ca. He was a loving Grandfather to 8 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Never forgotten will be his smile, joking ways and giving heart. Remembered most was his courage to fight, strength to stand strong and his will to live. He will forever be missed by all.
VISITATION
A visitation will be held from 12:00pm noon - 1:00pm on Monday, December 4th, 2023 at the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA.
SERVICE
A service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, December 4th, 2023 at the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA.
