Karen Louise Pulliam (née Eighenhuis), 81, of Stockton, CA was welcomed into the arms of Jesus in the early morning hours of Saturday, November 4, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Stockton, CA following a few weeks spent in the ICU.
Karen was born in Pasadena, CA on February 11, 1942, the second child of the late Thelma (Scarbourgh) and Rev. Clarence Eigenhuis, Sr.
On February 14, 1975 she married her sweetheart, Glenn Lee Pulliam. Together they enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel, visiting with family, and spending time at the ocean.
Karen made her career working in retail administration and ultimately managed the Stockton/Lodi KOA alongside her husband for 16 years, prior to their retirement.
Karen loved gospel music and spent a number of years in her childhood singing gospel music on a daily radio program with her siblings. She and Glenn attended Horizon Christian Fellowship in Stockton. She loved to socialize with friends and family, including playing Bingo and Bunco with her friends in the senior community. She loved freely, and enjoyed helping others when she could. Karen will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years and 9 months; as well as three daughters, Sherrie (Jim) Suhrie, Denise (Robert) Serio, and Kim (Dane) Claussen; one son, Leo Martin Jr.; and 16 Grandchildren, Ryan (Toni) Suhrie, Kayla Suhrie, Kevin Suhrie, Amber (Andrew) Chalupa, Joseph (Leslie) Nunes Jr., Angela (Seth) Harney, Chris Serio, Justyn (fiancée, Brittany) Martin, Jacob (Karenna) Martin, Jeremy (Katie) Claussen, Jason (Mandi) Claussen, Joshua (Nicole) Claussen, Scotty (Kayla) Claussen, Chris Grover, Manda Grover, and Jenny (fiancé, Beau) Grover. She is also survived by 27 Great Grandchildren: Kanin Chalupa; Joseph and Juliana Nunes; Imogene, Geneva, and Violet Harney; Trevan, Trenton, Oliver, Olivia, and Lola Claussen; Chance and Chad Claussen; Shakoya, Isabella, and Jayden Claussen; Macy, Cameron, and MaKenzy Claussen; Abbygail Grover; Mac Ballard, McKinley and McKaley Grover; Peyton and Mason Saunders; Bella Petersen, and Lane Woodford; as well as a special grandniece, Sarah (fiance, Jesus) Macias and great grandnephew, Cameron Macias; two sisters, Sandi Johnston and Lorri (Greg) Herrick; a brother, Doug (Krista) Eigenhuis; a sister-in-law, Vera Macias; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Grover (surviving husband, Bob); a grandson, Gregg Grover (surviving wife, Melissa); a sister and best friend, Sharon Field; a brother, C. Gilbert Eigenhuis, Jr. (surviving wife, Joan); a brother-in-law, Jim Johnston; two nephews, Wesley Field and David Macias; and a niece, Taige Sullivan (surviving husband, Patrick).
A Viewing will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 9am-12pm at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N Beckman Road, Lodi, CA. A graveside service (open to all) will follow at 1pm with Pastor Gary Greeno presiding. Interment will be in the Garden of Trees at Cherokee Memorial Park.
