Barbara Anne (Chamberlain) Cady, 76, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, at her residence in Stockton, CA. Born in Porterville, California, the oldest of three daughters she was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanne Brown, and father, James Chamberlain, both of California, and sister, Diana Cook, of Colorado.
Barbara graduated from Amos Alonzo Stagg High School in 1964 and soon began working for the Department of Parks and Recreation for the City of Stockton. She worked her way to an Administrative Assistant supervisor position and retired with over thirty years of service.
Barbara enjoyed watching classic movies on TCM, reading and watching documentaries on World War II, and was a San Francisco Giants fan. Her pride and joy were her three grandchildren and she loved spending time with them.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, A. Wayne Cady; step-son, Scott Cady; daughter, Caryn Barnett (Aaron); son, Christian Cady (Patricia); granddaughters, Clara Cady-Dreher, and Adelaide Cady; grandson Henry Cady; sister, Carol Reese; brother-in-law, Bradford J. Cook; four nieces, and other extended family members.
A memorial will be held on Thursday, March 9th at 11:00 AM in the Evergreen Chapel located at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 Beckman Road, Lodi, CA 95240. Interment to follow at Garden of the Gospels at Cherokee Memorial Park. A reception will follow in Morton Hall at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 S. Pleasant Avenue, Lodi, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any of the following: American Cancer Society (ACS), Dialysis Patient Citizens (DPC), or American Kidney Fund.
