August 17, 1924 - February 6, 2023
Loren passed peacefully into life eternal with his Lord and Saviour on February 6, 2023.
Loren was born August 17, 1924 in Swain, Arkansas. He is survived by his loving and devoted daughter, Debra Berdion (and son-in law Kenneth Berdion), his adoring granddaughters, Lori Ruegsegger and Gina Guadagnolo, and his beloved great-grandchildren, Abbigail Ruegsegger and Carson Ruegsegger. He was predeceased by his adoring and beloved wife of 73 years, Elizabeth Daniels, his loving mother and father, Rentha and Harley Daniels, his brother, Clarence, and his sisters, Lola, Bertie, and Pearl.
Loren went to elementary school with Elizabeth, and their families also knew each other. He served in the Army Air Force, and later got back in touch with Elizabeth while both were visiting California, where he began his courtship of her in earnest. Recently when describing his proposal to Elizabeth, he stated that "she was always the one." They were married on August 10, 1946, and renewed their vows in 2016 after 70 years of marriage. They remained a devoted and loving couple for a total of 73 years until her passing in 2019.
Loren and Elizabeth settled in Stockton, California, where they raised their only child Debbie, and where he owned and operated Daniels Seat Cover Center on West Lane for many years until his retirement. He was active in church from an early age, and he became a member of First Baptist Church of Stockton in 1981, where he served as an Usher and Greeter, and was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class for many years.
Loren loved to hunt, and to spend his time outdoors tending to his garden, mowing his lawn with his red tractor, working in his "shop" to figure out how to repair things, and taking care of his home -- but most of all he loved his family. His wife, daughter, granddaughters and great-grandchildren were the lights of his life.
Loren was a man of great faith in God, great integrity, great honesty, and great devotion to family. He lived a beautiful and happy life. He was dearly loved and deeply admired by his family and friends, who are forever grateful for his wonderful life, the inspiring example he set, and for all of the beautiful and special memories he leaves behind. We will miss him every day, and will carry his memory and his love in our hearts forever.
