December 12, 1958 - June 19, 2023
Peet, Charles Alan (Chuck, Chaz)
After fighting cancer for over 16 years, our beloved brother and friend, Chuck Peet has passed away at the age of 64. A Lodi resident since 1964 and a 30-year employee of AT&T, Chuck leaves many dear friends and colleagues behind.
Born in 1958 to Lester and Maxine Peet in Madera, CA, Chuck is survived by his brother Jim Peet, of Valley Springs, sister Becky Cook, of Sparks, NV, and nephew Mark Peet, of Sacramento. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Brian Peet, his favorite fishing buddy.
While never married, Chuck enjoyed a full and vibrant life as an avid outdoorsman and continued to do as much as possible while being treated for cancer. Closer to home, he kept a vegetable garden and lovingly cared for his dogs. He enjoyed inviting friends over to help with canning big batches of pickled asparagus and pomegranate jelly, among other things.
Chuck was also a 30-year member of E Clampus Vitus, Chapter Matuca 1849, and Tuleburg 69, and an active participant in many of their events.
He was always looking for fun and could find a way to have a laugh, no matter how dire his medical circumstances. He leaves a big hole in the hearts of many people; he had close friends from many walks of life, and several have been close buddies since kindergarten.
As one of his long-time friends said, “The world is a better place with Chuck in it.”
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, at 1pm at the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA.
A reception and celebration of life will immediately follow at Lodi Moose on Woodbridge Road.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The REX Foundation, or The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
