August 7, 1957 - June 25, 2023
On this day June 25 2023 Timothy Earl Evangelisti passed away.
Tim was born August 7 1957 in Stockton California- son of Earl and Shirlee Evangelisti
He was the third and youngest of three children. Survived by his sisters Pam and Joey. Also survived by his wife Sally and his four children; Sarah, Jabcob(Araceli),Harmony, Hailey and several grandkids, niece and nephews.
Tim graduated from Stagg High School Class of 1975. From there he joined the United States Air Force. Where he proudly served as a Aircraft Mechanic Crew Chief at George Air Force Base California for 4 years. While he served at age 20 , he started attending a Christian church on base where he found his love for the Lord. After the Airforce Tim had various jobs..one comes to mind of working at a Casino in Reno as a Floor Change person. His last job he retired from after 29 years was Stone Brothers in Stockton Calif as street sweeper driver. But even after all those years working, he still attempted to work and try new things. He enjoyed driving his hybrid red prius, he would deliver doordash, grubhub, post mates and give uber rides. He even tried to see if his wife could legally be in the car as he did these jobs. Tim and Sally met at University of Pacific at a concert in the year 1983. They crossed paths again at Delta College across the Koi Pond and one last time at Lucky Market where Tim met Sally’s mom, Dorothy Sandelius. Quickly three months after meeting they married December 3, 1983 on a stormy Saturday afternoon at Morris Chapel. Their honeymoon involved a road trip down south starting in Disneyland and traveling to Tijuana in their Lincoln Continental. Together and with the help from the best Grandparents, Aunties ,Uncles and friends they raised their four children all with the strength and faith he /they had in the Lord. Their marriage was till death does them part, together forever.
Tim and Sally together enjoyed their local Senior Center, Calvary Chapel on Sundays, dining out and traveling. They've traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, and various locations in California. He wrote on Dec 2022 "Sally and I just got done with an extensive buffet breakfast in the Horizon Court aboard the sea faring vessel called "The Royal Princess" After 39 years of marriage I've come to the conclusion that we must be in love. It must be an enduring love for one another, otherwise how could the two of us had lasted this long.”
All the family is so very thankful for all the care and donations of the Go Fund Me and all the love shown on social media and in person. May the prayers continue as we embark the new days ahead without our beloved Tim.
Memories:
** His last job he retired from after 29 years was Stone Brothers in Stockton Calif as street sweeper driver. At that particular job working nights, one night his sweeper ran over a piece of metal and got stuck in his tire. He forgot to put the truck in park as he got out to remove the object. The car rolled over his hand and sharply cut and caused a loss of a good portion of his left pinky finger. He tried to look for it but likes to say a bird flew off with it. We never found the rest. of his pinky. His Son, Jacob, remembers his dad coming home with a wrapped bloody hand before going to the hospital.
Tim’s favorite snacks were peanuts, double dipped chocolate peanuts and pepsi.
Some old shows he enjoyed were Survivor, Fear factor, Dog eat Dog, Lost.
Favorite movies Passion of the Christ, Jurassic Park, Jesus Revolution (last movie to see in theaters), Star Trek
Loved gospel songs: “Victory in Jesus, At the Cross, Frank Santra “My Way”, “high hopes”, Pennies from Heaven,
Favorite sayings: Don’t quit, your attitude determines your altitude, keep it simple saints, F.I.N.E “freaked out, insecure, neurotic, and emotional” , WAIT TILL YOU HAVE KIDS, this is not hotel, Is the glass half empty or half full, turn off the lights, lock the door,
Favorite activities: Camping, Bible Study, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter with family, Christmas lights drive on Christmas Eve, banging pots on New Years Eve.
Named their kids for different reasons: Hailey Rose, Haleys Comet, Sarah as in “Princess” plus being their first born daughter and for a biblical reference, Jacob from another biblical stand point, and Harmony Joy as the peace maker/ prayer during a difficult time in raising their family. Anticipated all first 3 and was blessed with the last being Hailey Rose.
