Ruth Audrey Radmore, age 98, passed away October 10, 2024. She was born in Los Angeles and moved to Stockton in 1950. Ruth was a graduate of UCLA and held a Master’s Degree from UOP. She started and ended her 25 year teaching career at Franklin High School, with interim teaching positions at Stockton, Hamilton, and Fremont Junior High Schools and with the Peace Corps at the Women’s Teacher Training College in Abeokuta, Nigeria. Ruth held a private pilot’s license and was a charter member of the Stockton Bicycle Club. She served as President of the Franklin Teachers Association, Fremont Teachers Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma (Women Educators Honorary). In 1973, she opened IDEAS, etc., an advertising and graphic design agency which remained active for 25 years. Ruth worked three summers at the Silver Lake Family camp. Two of these years were spent as the camp hostess, assisting her husband, who was the manager. She and her husband have hosted over 150 guests from 17 countries, having visitors an average of three months of each year.
Mrs. Radmore is survived by sister in law, Rosaline Turnbull, nieces Deborah and Cynthia, nephews John Jr and Robert, many grand-nieces and grand-nephews and numerous dear friends. Her husband of 63 years, David Radmore, brother and sister in law, John and Catherine Turnbull predecease her. Inurnment will be private by family.
