December 18, 1955 - April 19, 2024
Greg was born December 18, 1955 to Lillian and Frank Medina of Stockton. He attended Waterloo grammar school and Linden High School from which he graduated. Shortly after he graduated he went to work for Stockton Scavenger Association which later became Waste Management. Greg worked for the company for approximately 40 years. Following his retirement from Waste Management he worked for various companies driving truck with the last being Tiger Lines. He has many friends from his various employments.
Greg was a loving brother to his sister Barbara and his brother Gary. Greg enjoyed biking with his friends, playing racquetball, hiking, and traveling to Palm Springs. Greg also liked watching Star Trek, The Twilight Zone, and Outer Limits. He liked old movies, jazz music, Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack. Greg liked a good steak and a cocktail with dinner. Greg had a great memory and a good sense of humor. Favorite comedian would be Steve Martin. Greg was able to recall from memory funny lines from Steve Martin as well as quotes from movies and television. Greg extensively researched anything he was interested in, from telephone pole insulators to 4 wheel drive jeeps. Greg had a jeep that he took over the Rubicon trail which at the time was one of the hardest off road trails in California.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Greg due to a brain tumor. Greg was diagnosed in the later part of February 2024 with an inoperable aggressive brain tumor. He was cared for by Novellas Assisted Living of Stockton with medical and comfort needs met by Hospice of San Joaquin. He passed peacefully in his sleep on April 19, 2024.
We find comfort in knowing Greg did not suffer and that now he is at peace in heaven. You are never really gone until all those that knew you are gone too. Donations in Greg’s name can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin.
