Joseph Daniel Parra
July 24, 2009 - June 2, 2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Daniel Parra, who left us on June 2, 2024. Born on July 24, 2009, in San Francisco, CA at UCSF Medical Center, Joseph was the beloved son of Jessica and Rafael Parra.
Joseph was born with Joubert syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. From the moment of his birth, he was a fighter, and every milestone he achieved was a blessing. Joseph was a very happy boy, known for his goofy and silly personality. Whoever met him fell in love with him. He was a cherished big brother to his sisters Julieann and Jasmine Parra, and he enjoyed spending time with them.
We are truly going to miss Joseph’s constant smile and his silly laugh, but we know he is at peace now. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and Lodi Memorial Hospital for everything they have done for Joseph through the years.
Joseph is survived by his loving parents, Jessica and Rafael Parra, and his beloved sisters, Julieann and Jasmine Parra. He is also survived by his grandmothers Trish Werner and MJ/Nana (wife of Grandpa Frank Werner), great-grandmothers Mildred Capaldo and Theresa Werner, Grandpa Frank Werner, uncles Frankie Werner, Beto Parra, Fernando Parra, Jose Parra, and Arturo Parra, aunts Jennifer Werner, Maria Parra, and Marcela Parra, as well as all of his additional aunts and uncles in Mexico.
Joseph was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers Francis D. Werner and Julius Cataldo, and his grandmother Josephina Parra. Joseph was loved by all family members near and far.
A celebration of life will be held on June 17, 2024, at 10am PST at Cherokee Memorial Park and Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jouberts Syndrome Foundation in Joseph’s name at jsrdf.org.
We invite all who knew Joseph to join us in celebrating his life and remembering the wonderful times we shared.
Please leave your condolences below.
