Arthur Zeno Peoples was born on April 14th, 1923, in Petaluma, California, and passed away on Memorial Day, May 25th, 2015 at the age of 92, in Stockton, California. His parents were Curtis and Ella Peoples. He had one sister, Vivian Fannen, and two brothers, Vernett and Leslie Peoples, all whom have passed.
He attended local schools in Petaluma and graduated from Petaluma High School in June of 1941. After high school he attended the University of California in Berkeley for one semester, but later transferred to Santa Rosa Jr. College. He played baseball while he was at Santa Rosa Jr. College and graduated in June of 1943.
He was offered to enroll in a V-12 program at the College of the Pacific. For those who do not know, the V-12 program was a Naval program that was established by the War Department on university campuses during World War II to provide the Navy with a continuous supply of officers. He came to Stockton, California in July of 1943, graduated from the V-12 program in February of 1944, and was sent to Columbia University in New York City, New York, as a midshipman. He was commissioned as an Ensign, known in today’s terms as a second lieutenant, in June 1944.
While he was in New York City he met his future wife, Ruth Glenora Huling. He was sent to Portland, Maine and stationed on a minesweeper ship during the war. Arthur married Ruth on September 14, 1944, while on a 72 pass, and she joined him in Maine shortly thereafter. They were blessed to have been married for almost 71 years.
The war was almost at an end and he was discharged from the Navy in June of 1945. After being discharged from the military he returned to Petaluma, but moved back to Stockton in September 1945 in order to attend the University of the Pacific (UOP) under the G.I. Bill. Upon graduating from UOP with an Accounting Degree, he was offered a position at Hobbs Parsons Co. as office manager. He worked for the company for 16 years. When the company relocated to Fresno, Art decided to stay in Stockton and go back to college where he received his teaching credential. He ended up teaching at Glenwood School for 24 years as an 8th grade math teacher.
Art and Ruth had two wonderful sons, David and Steven Peoples. Both sons passed away in September 1999. Art was involved with Little League and Babe Ruth League during their sons early years.
Art was also the 2nd President of Sundown Little Leagues, was a member of the Lodi Masonic Lodge, No. 256, and the National Rifle Association. In his free time, Art greatly enjoyed the peacefulness of lake fishing with his close friends and family, working in his garden, and greatly loved sports.

Carol Taylor, 78, of Lodi passed away peacefully on the morning of May 14, 2015. Carol was born on December 7, 1936 in Everett, Washington. She was raised in Everett by her grandparents. Upon graduation from Everett High School in 1955, Carol married the love of her life, Al Taylor, and the two began what would become a very fulfilled life. Their two sons, Randy and Rick, were born in Washington. Shortly after Rick’s birth, the young family moved to the Bay Area of California where their daughter, Jennifer, was born and their family was complete. As Al went to school and worked to make his way in the airline industry, Carol became involved in many groups including the hospital auxiliary, PTA, and play groups. In 1973, the family moved to Lodi. Again, Carol became very active in many organizations such as 4-H, PTA, the Garden Club, the Antique Club, Dirty Dozen card group, and many more. She was most proud of her involvement in the founding and opening in 1990 of the Lodi Women’s Center, an organization she was passionate about and continued to serve for many years. Although involved in many clubs over the years, Carol was also a successful real estate agent in Lodi for many years. She began her real estate career at Red Carpet and also worked for Rose Marie Realty and Grupe Real Estate.
Carol loved to travel and did so extensively with family and friends. Over the years, she visited faraway lands and enjoyed the culture and experiences each trip had to offer. It seemed like she would return from one trip and immediately start planning the next! Of all the places she traveled to, her favorite was Honolulu, Hawaii and she truly believed that there wasn’t a problem in the world that a trip to Hawaii couldn’t solve. Our family and many friends are blessed to have enjoyed so many of these tropical vacations with Mom. Aside from traveling, Carol loved to spend time with her family. Her children and grandchildren brought her much joy. Carol could always been seen rooting on her kids or grandkids in the many activities in which they were involved. She was happiest when everyone gathered at her home for some of her homemade Swedish meatballs. There was always room at her dining room table for anyone who stopped by.
Carol’s hobbies included collecting antiques, playing cards, and shopping (she trained her daughter, daughters-in-law, and granddaughters well in that area!)
Carol is preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, her brothers, Mike and Tommy, and her husband, Al Taylor. She is survived by her children Randy Taylor (Vikki), Rick Taylor (Sandy), and Jennifer Willis (Curtis) and grandchildren Heather Archuleta (Jordan), Alex Taylor, Caroline Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Zach Kramer, and Taylor Willis. Carol is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Seve and Stella Archuleta and siblings Sandy Chimenti, Marcia Pedack, and Jim Baer and Nancy Rayl, all of Washington.
The family asks that contributions be made to the Lodi Women’s Center, P.O. Box 2543, Lodi, CA 95241.

Harry died peacefully on May 16, 2015 at his home in Linden surrounded by family. He is preceded in death by his daughter Judith Wagner Bush, his mother, Christina, and his father Jacob, his five brothers, and four sisters. Harry lived a life that was rich in family, friends, and community.Born on February 16, 1921 in North Dakota, Harry moved to California as a young man. He served his country during World War II, in the U.S. Navy. He and his wife along with their two children, Judy and Jim moved from Lodi to Linden in 1950 to begin a life of farming. He had many successes in this area growing a variety of both row crops and orchard crops and was named to the San Joaquin County Ag Hall of Fame in 1998. He served on the San Joaquin Cherry Growers and Industry as President and was “Cherryman of the Year” in 1981. He was longtime member of the San Joaquin County Farm Bureau, the San Joaquin Farm and Production Association, and was a fifteen year board member for Federal Land Bank (now Ag Credit). In the early 1980’s he began a commercial apple packing business and many people over the years were able to enjoy the “Wagner’s Delight” label.
Beyond the love of land and farming, Harry’s biggest contributions lie in his dedication to community organizations and service. He was a longtime member of the Linden Lions Club, holding numerous positions including director over the years. He was honored for his service to the organization in 1979 receiving the Linden Lions Citizen’s Achievement Award and again for the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. He also took great pride in his 51 year membership in the Valley Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons #135, serving as a Past Master (several times). In 1992, he received the organization’s highest honor, the Hiram Award, for his dedication and service. He was also named Mason of the Year in 1998 by the Scottish Rite Bodies of Stockton. He was very involved in the Linden–Peters Chamber of Commerce serving as its president. His biggest accomplishment during his presidency was the placement of the two signs coming into town listing the names of the many organizations active in the Linden community. He also helped to organize and grow the Linden Cherry Festival and Parade, its Cherry Queen contest, as well as being Santa Claus for the tree lighting for over 10 years. Harry was very involved with the Order of the Eastern Star and worked with the youth organization Linden Rainbow for Girls. He served as a Worthy Patron of Eastern Star and was the State Rainbow Dad for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls in 1994. All of these organizations allowed Harry to be a part of many fundraisers and community service projects that served the people of Linden directly including the Ambulance for Linden project for which he even offered to pay for the gas for the first year of service.
Through these many activities and participation it was evident just how much Harry cared for his family, friends, and his neighbors in the Linden Community.
He was highly respected by those who knew him for his integrity, honesty, loyalty, and a genuine concern for the welfare of others. His family and friends have truly benefitted and have been so fortunate to have had such an amazing model of humanity at its best.
Harry is survived by his wife of almost 72 years Alma, his son Jim and daughter-in-law Frances, his granddaughters, Dayna (Jason) Wagner-Loeliger and Jamie (Rick) Francis, his great Grandchildren Ethan and Paige, his caregiver Jimmy Perez, and many nephews and nieces.
