With a heavy heart, we share the passing of Vicki Lynn Lagorio, who passed away on Friday,
December 3, 2021, at the young age of 62. Vicki spent her last moments surrounded by the
loving embrace of her family and husband, Brian.
Vicki was born and raised in Lodi, Ca, where she lived with her mother, Eileen Burcham. After
graduating from Stagg High School, she went to work for the Bank of America, which became
the start of her incredible journey.
Vicki met Brian while on a blind date in November 1989, which ignited their love. It wasn’t long
after that the two married at the Carson Valley Inn on December 1st, 1990. They created a
wonderful life full of love and memories in Linden and eventually retired in Minden, Nevada,
near where they said there I dos to one another.
Vicki worked for American Ag Credit for over 27 years, retiring as Head of Regional Operations.
She took tremendous pride in her career and devoted her heart and soul into everything she
did. She was a mentor to many, and her loss will be felt by all who worked with her.
Vicki was many things in her life: an adventurer, a free spirit, a fighter, and a friend to all. Most
importantly, she was a loving wife, a dedicated mother, and a proud grandmother. She was a
kind and loving soul. Those who knew her described her as passionate, determined, and
faithful. You could find her outdoors or traveling when not at home or work. She was an avid
hiker that enjoyed being by the water more than anything. She enjoyed reading and relaxing at
home, simply knowing that she was with Brian and he was with her. She was a simple woman
who didn’t need much to fuel her happiness.
Vicki’s faith in Jesus kept her grounded and sustained her throughout her fight with cancer. She
is preceded in death by her father, Victor Delu. She is survived by her mother, Eileen Burcham,
her husband Brian Lagorio, sons James with wife Bernadette, Josef, and her grandchildren Jack
and Lyra.
Vicki’s memorial service will be held on February 26th, 2022, at 10 am at Cherokee Memorial
Park, Vineyard Chapel, 14165 N. Beckman Rd. Lodi, CA, (209) 334-9613. Following the
services, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Italian Athletic Club from 11:30 am at 3541
Cherryland Ave, Stockton, CA. The memorial service will also be live-streamed for those who
cannot attend in person.

Joaquin County Farm Bureau in any amount for an annual scholarship for Agricultural-bound

Diane Roberta Dixon French was born November 30, 1954, to parents Robert and Teresa (Manzitto) Dixon. After a valiant sixteen-month battle with heart disease, she joined her Lord and Savior in Heaven December 1st. She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Victor French, her siblings Elaine Dixon-Ugarkovich (William), Kevin Dixon (Sue) and Keith Dixon, and nephew Steven Ugarkovich.
Diane was raised in Thornton and graduated from Galt High School in 1972. While attending Delta College she began work in retail, a job that fit her social personality. She earned her degree in public administration from Sacramento State and began work with San Joaquin County. She went on to earn her Master’s in Education from National University.
Diane and Victor met through friends and developed a close affection for each other that led to their marriage in May of 1983. They enjoyed travelling together, going to plays and musicals, being near the ocean and visiting various historic sites. They had a mutually encouraging relationship, which allowed them to explore their individual interests, together and separately. Victor cherished Diane, will miss her and looks forward to being with her again in the presence of the Lord.
Diane’s hobbies included creating cross-stitch samplers and quilts. She even sewed her own wedding dress. She was an avid collector of antique quilts and made several trips to Pennsylvania and Indiana, which connected her with a network of Amish quilters. She made friends that included all walks of her life, and many were lucky to be gifted a sampler, a quilt or a jar of her famous Christmas jam. She described her journey as a quilter in her book “The Stepping Stone Quilt – My Journey through Quilting”, which she wrote this past year. Her quilting mantra, taken from the Amish, was “Done is better than Perfect”.
Diane spent most of her thirty one year career teaching students at numerous elementary schools within Lodi Unified School District. She was a devoted teacher, who was well loved and respected by her students, parents, and staff at all levels of the district. She mentored a number of student teachers, was a lead teacher for district staff development, a mentor teacher, Peer Assistant and Review Coach for underperforming teachers and a teacher-trainer in the county’s Impact Intern Program. After retirement from LUSD, she worked with student teachers at UOP’s School of Education. Her expertise in curriculum emphasized the importance of immersing students in their learning experiences.
Diane’s passion for teaching Christian education evolved from being a youth director at Lincoln Presbyterian to working in curriculum development for Stockton First Baptist. For many years she was a group leader in Bible Study Fellowship. She also led many other Bible studies including one at the Women’s Shelter. Diane organized and led several weekend Biblical retreats teaching God’s word and how to apply it to everyday life. During her recovery, this past summer, her deep faith led her to write Daily Devotionals which have been published by Lincoln Presbyterian Church. Her devotion to her faith led her to conduct Bible studies on her patio while she was still recovering.
Diane felt peace and tranquility while overlooking the ocean. She and Victor traveled to both coasts, took a number of cruises and they often spent weeks at Sea Ranch, CA. She would bring her sewing machine and stitch while watching the surf. Their home is decorated with quilts and items from the sea.
Though the past few months were arduous and painful, Diane approached each new day as a blessing from God. She remained positive and cheerful until her heart finally gave out. She was an exemplary Christian who lived her life full of love for others. Her impact will be felt by many for years to come.

Audrey Adeline Hazelbaker, aged 95, passed away peacefully in Lodi on November 22, 2021. She was born March 8, 1926 in Visalia, CA, to Gustav and Julia (Ashton) Walther, joining older sister Lois. She was a graduate of Visalia High School, class of 1943. Her dad was a linotype operator at the Visalia Times-Delta newspaper and she fondly remembered helping him put together the high school yearbook every year. She studied art at UC Santa Barbara and it was while roller skating in Santa Barbara that she met a young Marine just returned from active duty in WW2, Darrell ("Haze") Hazelbaker. They married in September of 1945, settling in Stockton where they started a family. Son Danny Eugene, daughter Kathleen, and daughter Jeanne Marie rounded out the family. She was a stay-at-home mom for several years thereafter, working at various jobs around Lodi with her favorite being at a wholesale nursery. She loved gardening and had quite a green thumb. She will also be remembered as a very good cook! She was always willing and able to make a wonderful meal in no time at all, which she did frequently when our Dad would call her mid-morning to tell her that he was bringing a friend home for lunch and they would really love some of her tamale pie!
Audrey was predeceased by her mother and father; sister, Lois; and husband, Darrell (2011); as well as grandson, Roger Smatsky. She is survived by son, Dan Hazelbaker (Martha) of Mtn. Home, ID; daughter, Kathy Smatsky (Al) of Lodi; and daughter, Jeanne Schneider (Scott) of Woodburn, OR; as well as 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Per her request, no service is planned. Dan and Jeanne would like to thank our sister Kathy for taking care of Mom for the last 10 years.
