A native of Stockton, California, Nate was raised here and graduated from Edison Senior High School in 1995. Nate attended Fresno State and San Joaquin Delta College. He later completed the Apprenticeship Program at IBEW Local Union 595, where he began his career as a Union Journeyman Electrician for 7 years. He then went to work for Stockton Unified School District as an electrician for the past 6 years.

Nate loved many sports. He was a diehard Raider’s fan and shared a strong love for the Duke Blue Devils basketball team, just like his dad. He played youth football for the Pop-Warner Southside Vikings where his dad helped coach his team. He and sisters, Nicole and Natalie, all swam for the City of Stockton Blue Dolphins swim team. Nate also played for Edison High School’s water polo team. He taught swimming lessons for the City of Stockton Parks and Recreation Department in the summers between high school and college. Nate taught his sons Jaiden and Dominic to swim, and was teaching his youngest child, daughter Ava, how to swim. He also played basketball with his cousins on parks and recreation city league teams for several years. A lot of Nate’s early years were spent watching his dad and mom play softball at Louis Park, Oak Park, and Regional Softball Park, on the family recreation and tournament teams. Fred played for the Dimas Demons and his mom Debbie played for the Dimas Dames. It was a family affair with his sisters, cousins, aunts and uncles, grandparents, and friends enjoying the games and family picnics and bar-b-ques. As Nate and his cousins got into their teens, they formed their own softball teams and played recreational and tournament ball for many years together, and with friends.

Nate enjoyed being a part of the Hoover-Tyler Little League family. He helped do facility maintenance and improvements for the league whenever he could. He was proud of his boys and loved to watch them play baseball on Hoover-Tyler teams from the time they started t-ball.

One of Nate’s hobbies was fishing, which he especially enjoyed doing with his brother-in-law,Tom Vega, out on the Delta. He also enjoyed camping with family and friends his whole life and passed that love of camping and the outdoors on to his children. He looked forward to the annual Sanchez family camping trip, and anytime he got a chance to camp with family and friends. Nate also had taken up hiking in the Sierras with his friend Keith and liked the challenge of their trips and the beauty of the wilderness they had the opportunity to explore.

Nate was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle and a great friend to many. His kind, caring spirit, and deep love for his family and those close to him were what filled his life. He was a good man.
