May 5, 1945 - January 20, 2022
Carlos Manuel Clark, 75, long time resident of Lodi, has left this world to be with the Lord. Carlos passed away at his home of heart failure on January 20th, 2022.
Born May 5th, 1946 in Los Angeles, Carlos lived the majority of his 75 years in Lodi and attended St. Ann’s Catholic Church and School as well as Lodi Union High School.
Of Nicaraguan descent, Carlos had been adopted by Charles and Mercedes Clark. Charles was a foreman for Diamond Walnut Company in the 1950’s/60’s and was a resident of Lodi. Both parents preceded Carlos in death in 1968 and 1971 respectively.
As a young man, Carlos served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era and later served in the Army Reserves. He worked as an electrician for the majority of his working years.
Carlos was a jovial yet quirky character who lived a modest life, content with simple pleasures. He had a creative streak that was expressed by brewing beer, gardening and playing guitar, his true love. His love of guitar showed in his ever eagerness to teach anyone to play who was willing to learn. He was blessed with the gift of gab and a great sense of humor. Always laughing.
His family will remember him fondly as a peculiar man always looking for an ear to listen and for his profuse and clever quips.
Carlos had a small extended family and is survived by his only sibling, Maria Hilton of Bullhead City, AZ, daughter, Rhonda Cooper and son-in-law Damon Cooper of Templeton, CA and their 2 children, Courtney and Logan Cooper.
Carlos had one son, Charles Richard Clark, who preceded Carlos in death in 2011.
For a memorial donation the family asks that you consider a contribution to the Lodi City Animal Shelter.
Cherokee Memorial is honored to serve the Clark family.
